To be a follower of Islam is to declare belief and acceptance of their stated points of religion. And that is an evil thing. I want zero representation by my elected or appointed office holders to be Muslim. I want absolutely no protections afforded in the constitution applied to any Islamist. They are sworn enemies of ours, and Israel.

I agree in part, but not to the extent that would include a religion sworn to destroy Israel and the U.S. and soon to include a country (Ireland) near you.

How we can justify dealings with enemies sworn to murder us, I'll never know.

It's actually amazing, no....understandable, given the amount of time and effort dedicated to distortions of the Constitution and bill of rights.

The US is not and never has been a Christian nation - it is a secular nation which allows freedom of worship.

I am grateful for that freedom and do not want it taken away from ANYONE!

Here we go back to the old secular vs Christian nation argument. Roger, the fact remains that our laws were founded upon Judeo-Christian principles and laws and no amount of historical revisionism can change that.

That we have been historically viewed and regarded as a Christian nation (even though "Christian nation" may be used as a generic term) by other nations of the world cannot be denied either unless one chooses to believe historical revisionism.

But that is not the crux of this debate on this thread - the issue is whether on not a muslim can best represent the interests of America to the international body and whether or not GW Bush has done more to advance the cause of islam than any other president in US history.
