Now, there's my kind of lady!!! I agree with everything you said, and, well, ok, you said it better than I did. I mean I love women, but not in the pulpit.

Thanks for the input. This should be the last on the subject.

    God Bless

I would never] classify a church that accepts a woman pastor as conservative no matter what else they believed. They have denied a fundamental teaching of the Bible, thereby denying the authority of the Bible for them (good post-modern thinking) and are NOT conservative.

And on the subject, I find it very sad that a BAPTIST church would have a woman pastor. We've discussed this many times on the Theology and Denomination Forums.

AMEN!!! It makes me even sadder to see how the people who try to hold on to the word of God get their motives questioned.

Here are my concerns with woman pastors:

1)If women like Anne Graham Lotz and Beth Moore can speak at evangelism conferences, etc., then why can't they pastor churches?

2)The Assemblies of God ordain women pastors, and their sermons are more fire-and-brimstone than what I hear from moderate Baptist female ministers.

No, I am not an advocate for female pastors, but I am just putting in my $0.02! [IMG]

Fundamentalists have twisted the scripture and translations of the scripture to suit themselves when it comes to the issue of women pastors.

God did not forbid it. God, who is sovereign, is the one who has called these women.

Go ahead, fundamentalists! fight against God calling women as his servants in the church. And continue dwindling into small, insignificant churches full of old, dead people. Stick to your twisted scripture interpretations and your insistence on your pet doctrines and practices. Ignore scripture contexts and interpret the Bible as if it were written in the deep south a hundred years ago.

God is passing you by as a means of reaching people for his kingdom and is using others to do that work now.

All I can say is, hallelujah, praise God, Praise God, I am free from fundamentalist bondage and prison and now know the joy of being full of the spirit of God and the fulness of his freedom in Christ.

Praise God for that church in Mississippi, for listening to the voice of God when he spoke, and for obeying what he told them to do. May God prosper their house as he did the house of Jabez.

Encourage you to voice your opinion on my new poll! While I disagree with you (that women can pastor) our Baptist distinctive of Soul Liberty and Freedom of Conscience allows YOU the same vote as ME!

From the article: "We don't have a feminist agenda here," Carla said. "I'm just doing what God has called me to do. My purpose is to reach people and help them connect with God, and that's what I'm going to focus on."

If the Word does not actually specifically say that a woman can pastor a church, how can Ms. Carla Street say that God has called her to do what she is doing?

    Is that possible?

    Just wondering [IMG]
