Bottom line, Brother...If I don't want to win souls, and can rationalize my ungrateful, wicked attitude away, well...it doesn't really matter what you write, or what Jesus said...I AM NOT GOING SOULWINNING, BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO. An ingrate convinced against his will is of the same opinion still...

As for me and my house...we will be there preaching the Gospel to everyman...because I am debter both to the Jew and to the Greek. I owe them, because my account is paid in full!

Now, I don't know if the 'brother' you addressed was James, or myself, but, let me say something.
I am not against preaching Jesus, and him crucified.
I AM against preaching anyone else but Jesus. However, like missions, it is the purpose that I am pointing to here.
There is no such Biblical doctrine as winning souls to Christ. Christ has already won every soul He needs to win to Himself. If God commands us to win souls to Christ, then He would have to crucify His Son over and over again, and then resurrect Him each time, because that is what is needed for every soul to be won to Christ.
Also, if there is anymore 'soul winning' that must be done, then Christ will have to perpetually go into the Holy of Holies in heaven bearing cup after cup of His own blood for every soul saved after Calvary, until the Father tells Him all that needs to be saved is saved and so He must come and fetch them and bring them home.
But the Bible says He was offered up once for all, He already entered into the Holiest with His blood for the redemption of us all , He is resting and seated at the Father's hand already .
So, the question is, if the Bible says all is finished, Christ is Lord, He shouted it is finished, then why should there be any doctrine as soul-winning ?
The fact is no man wins souls to Christ, in the sense of eternal redemption. That is finished.
What we do is gospel bearing, shouting the good news for all to whom this news is intended to hear, and they will hear, but not all, and it doesn't matter if others for whom the good news is intended does not hear, since the good news did not secure their salvation.
We instruct, we exhort, we teach those who are already alive and hungry for the word.
'Soul winning' is an erroneous, man-made doctrine.

 

That doesn't stop us from bearing a one-on-one witness of these things bro PB.

Unless of course these Scripture do not apply to us.

Can you give us a short statements of your belief? You show yourself as a baptist that claims Romans as your scripture, but you seem to disagree with the witnessing, and you don't believe that the New Testament is the inspired word of God.

I'm curious about what you DO believe because at this point your beliefs are very, very, very different from any Baptist I've ever known in my life, and I've known a LOT of Baptists in my life.
