Genesis 7:19 is a commentary on the Psalms? It means Psalm 104 is about creation.
Not the deluge.
That's because you didn't go to the link and read the whole of the article I merely excerpted parts of.Found under the header,I don't see "face of of the earth" in "all the high hills under the whole heaven."
You may want to study the word as used in the entire account if Noah. The flood continued forty days on the earth. The waters increased and bore up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. 18The waters prevailed and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the face of the waters. 19And the waters prevailed so mightily on the earth that all the high mountains under the whole heaven were covered. 20The waters prevailed above the mountains, covering them fifteen cubitsd deep. 21And all flesh died that moved on the earth, birds, livestock, beasts, all swarming creatures that swarm on the earth, and all mankind. 22Everything on the dry land in whose nostrils was the breath of life died. 23He blotted out every living thing that was on the face of the ground, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens. They were blotted out from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark. 24And the waters prevailed on the earth 150 days.
Someone went into great detail to show that the earth (erets) wasn't the whole earth in the above passage but only a local area. What he successfully proved was that in each case he gave there where qualifiers to describe the earth in a specific LOCALITY.
Gen 4:11-14 And now you are cursed from the EARTH (adamah), which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you work the ground (adamah), it shall no longer yield to you its strength. You shall be a fugitive & a wanderer on the EARTH (erets).” Cain said to the LORD, “My punishment is greater than I can bear. Behold, you have driven me today away from the face of the earth (adamah) & from your face I shall be hidden. I shall be a fugitive & a wanderer on the earth (erets) & whoever finds me will kill me.”
This is a great example of someone who doesn't do their homework. In verse 11 earth is the Hebrew word adamah NOT erets. The context shows the 'adamah' would be further accursed with Cain & not yield anything for him at all. And here when 'erets' is actually used, it is used WITHOUT QUALIFIERS (on the earth) & that Cain would wander & be a fugitive wherever he went ON THE EARTH.
Another example is not knowning whether a word is in the singular or the plural. Such an example is trying to explain away Gen 7:19 by saying it only meant the sky not the other heavens. Had this person known that the word for heaven there is in the PLURAL and a qualifier IS USED here: the whole heavens, all the heavens, not just the sky. Another example of someone not doing their homework and showing this flood was indeed global not local with the plural use of heaven & denoting it was ALL of the heavens, the WHOLE heavens. Thus the earth is only ONE of the planets above all the other planets & all the mountains under ALL the whole of the heavens ON THIS ONE PLANET EARTH were covered with water.
Many examples were used to try show the context above meant local not global & are used to show locality for erets but all examples shown show the qualifiers are there to show a SPECIFIC locality: the land OF HAVILAH, YOUR country, the land of Nod, etc. all specific with qualifers. However, in Genesis 7 the qualifiers do not denote a SPECIFIC locality in ANY of the verses, not local qualifiers but the qualifiers are global.
Gen 7:2-4 You are to take with you seven pairs of EVERY KIND of clean animal, a male and its mate; a pair of EVERY KIND of unclean animal, a male and its mate; 3and seven pairs of EVERY KIND of bird of the air sky) male & female, to keep alive (preserve) their offspring on ALL the face (surface) of the earth. for after 7 more days I am sending rain on the earth [for] 40 days & 40 nights & will wipe away (destroy, all living things that I have made from off the face of the earth (adamah).”
Here again earth is not always translated 'erets, as in verse 4 above & for good reason. In verse 3 there is a qualifier to earth (erets): to keep alive every kind of offspring ON ALL the surface of the 'erets.' Then in verse 4 so that you don't try and misinterpret what is meant, it states God will wipe away, destroy, blot out--again ALL living things I HAVE MADE from OFF THE SURFACE OF THE DIRT/DUST. The emphasis is not by accident. It includes destroying all people & animals that existed ON THE DRY LAND & God will wipe them all out with a global flood. God makes this clear concerning all mankind at that time as He makes it very specific that ONLY NOAH & his family would survive this of all mankind.
Remember there had never been rain before this time. Ever. Water unindated the dry land of the earth from three sources. Water came from the rain, water came from the firmament, water came from under the earth when the land was broken up by the violence of the raging waters from all over the surface of the dust, the dry earth. And it describes three different stage of the flood, each stage getting much greater & more violent than the previous one.
MUCH MORE can be said in detail when the passages are exegeted properly. But people will persist on their own ways & private interpretations. I have just two warnings in concluding, the warning of the Apostle Peter & the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Pet 3:1-7 Beloved, this is now my second letter to you. Both of them are reminders to stir you to wholesome thinking 2by recalling what was foretold by the holy prophets and commanded by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.3MOST IMPORTANTLY, YOU MUST UNDERSTAND that in the last days SCOFFERS WILL COME, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4“Where is the promise of His coming?” they will ask. “Ever since our fathers fell asleep, everything continues as it has from the beginning of creation.”5But they deliberately overlook the fact that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water, 6through which the world of that time perished in the flood. 7And by that same word, the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
Matt 24:21,22 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22And unless those days were shortened, NO FLESH WOULD BE SAVED; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
The parallels between then and what is coming again on this earth with judgment & fire are unmistakeable. Are you fearing God & are you ready? 'This calls for the endurance of the saints.'
