I see travel hasn't stopped your prejudice of southerners.
Bigotry against people you are familiar with is still bigotry.
I wonder how many people will get sick from the vaccine ? I also wonder how many people will be given the wrong shot. I wonder about clerical errors & waiting lists, denied shots, you know, the kind of stuff a sycophant media would NEVER report.
Glad you've shifted gears, Crabby!blame Obama for anything that happens that is negative.
Is it necessary to call names over a political issue? You see, when you call Brother Curtis such names, it shows a great lack of insight and perception on your part. If you were really paying attention to what Brother Curtis says in general, you would realize there is a greater gap between his stance on most things and the Republicans than you and the Republicans. The reason you do not see it is because you think anyone opposing you is a Republican, when in fact, there is a third side to this equation. In fact, in reality, your type and the Republicans stand side by side and are opposed by those who are truly conservatives and cherish the Constitution.
Before you call someone a fool, make sure you understand government, history, and the issue.
There are doctors saying that this vaccine has not had enough testing to make sure it is safe, and many will not be giving it to anyone, even their own children will not recieve it.You should know, you are one of the most bigoted people I have seen.
By the way, your total misunderstanding also shows you do not understand Southern humor. Why am I not surprised?
Not nearly as many as will get the flu. I am sure you will find a way to blame Obama for anything that happens that is negative. I have faith in you.
yet you want to give free health care to those who refuse to work or waste their money. Why not just to those 'who through no fault of their own'?And while there are a few who are poor through no fault of their own, most people (at least in this country) are poor because they fail to work, or waste their money.
How did you arrive at this conclusion? Any statistics to back it up? Did Jesus ever say this to anyone?
flu is flu, all flu is contageous, and peopel will die from any flu that might be going around this winter. not just swine flu, which has been shown to be no more dangerous then the normal flu. How many people on this board got flu last year or the year before. I'm sure some will get one flu or another ths year too.I wonder how many people on this BB will get swine flu this fall and winter, but refuse to believe the diagnosis because of their belief it is a hoax?
"It ain't that thar flu doc, ain't no sich thing. You are jes aidin the evil gov'nment." [sic]
There are doctors saying that this vaccine has not had enough testing to make sure it is safe, and many will not be giving it to anyone, even their own children will not recieve it.
If people are forced to get vaccinated and then die from the vaccine just whose fault will it be since obama will be at the middle of forcing people to get medical treatments that are questionable and they do not want.
Do you still believe that the earth is flat and the sun revolves around it?
and?Hib disease deaths put focus on vaccine shortage

At least six unvaccinated children in Southeastern Pennsylvania have been infected and two have died in the nation's biggest recent outbreak of Haemophilus influenzae type b, a once-devastating disease that was virtually eradicated 20 years ago.
One Hib death has been reported in New Jersey.
A seventh Pennsylvania case, and third death, is thought to be due to Hib. Officials said that this and at least two other cases involved families who declined shots for religious reasons.
Health officials believe the outbreaks here and elsewhere likely were triggered by a vaccine shortage that removed just enough of the protective effect of widespread immunizations to make unvaccinated children more vulnerable.
Experts have been warning for years about the small but growing number of people who decline or delay immunizing their children because they fear side effects or believe the diseases are gone.

Look, the flu has always been around, and probably will always be around. There are certain years where there are severe outbreaks, and this may very well be one of them. But to scare the public into believeing we are going to see the deaths seen in the 1918 outbreak is going overboard. Things are much different now. Medicine is much better, methods to control disease are better known. We don't have the crowding of millions of men in unsanitary conditions as happened in 1918. It is a known fact that the vast majority of outbreaks started on military camps and spread to the general public in the 1918 outbreak.
And what can be gained by terrifying the public? They don't even have a vaccine for it, or not nearly enough if they do.
The flu vaccine is pretty much a joke to begin with. There are hundreds of strains of influenza. When they decide to make a vaccine, they GUESS which strain might appear in the coming year. That's right, they GUESS. They have no real way of knowing which strain will emerge in the coming year. They usually take the three strains they predict will appear and make a vaccine for them. So, if it happens in the next year that those three predicted strains emerge, then yes, the vaccine is helpful. But if other strains appear (which is almost always the case), then the vaccine is useless.
And while they say the vaccine is safe, many people get sick from it. I have witnessed this myself. My father was in perfect health when I was a child and took us all up to our school for a vaccination. Myself and my brothers were fine, but within hours my father became seriously ill. So, people can say what they want, I've seen people get very ill from vaccines with my own eyes. And I tell you, I have been very reluctant to get vaccines for myself or children since that incident. They offer free flu shots where I work and have for many years, I have never taken one yet, and have never had the flu. But I know of several fellow employees who got the shot and came down with the flu later. And one fellow employee got very ill within hours after receiveing the vaccine. In his own words he said it was the sickest he's ever been and he thought he was going to die. He said he will NEVER get another flu vaccine. And I am not making this up.
It's all about money. They make billions on these vaccines. But people will not usually get a vaccination without a little prodding, people don't like shots. So what do they do? They terrify you on the news.
I am not saying the flu isn't real, or that it isn't dangerous. But if you exercise good habits like washing your hands, eat a variety of good food and get good rest, your body will be very strong and can usually fight off diseases like this naturally.

do you think parents do not know whats best for their children. you think the governeemnt should dictate how we rasie our children? you think we should shoot our children full of vaccines which have not had enough testing to prove they are safe for them?
people die from flu, some have died from the vaccinations in the past. swine flu has been shown to be no more dangerous then normal flu. Most people don't even go to the doctor for the flu, they noramly don't even need one.
I agree with most of what you said but who is "they?"

Fairfax County, Va.: What are your thoughts on the swine flu situation and what would you have done differently (or the same)? Or is this more of an HHS thing than Homeland Security?
Tom Ridge: It's a great question because it involves both cabinet agencies and probably involves others as well. To this point I believe the administration has handled it effectively and I am intrigued and frankly applaud their public information campaign that includes Elmo. It's clever and hopefully effective.
