For those Curious about Smith Wigglesworth and other early revivalists

Even in the above quoted passage it shows his ignorance of the Bible. The arrogant statement he makes is false. Jesus did not do a miracle before every sermon he preached. Can he prove that he did.

Here is one example:
John 2:12 After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and they stayed there a few days. (WEB)

This was after the miracle at the wedding of Cana (his first recorded miracle. It was not a miracle right before a sermon because he went back and stayed in Capernaum for "a few days"

Then he zealously cleansed the Temple--not a miracle.
Then he gave a sermon.

His statement is false.

The Bible does not teach that we are limited to doing works less than Paul or even Jesus. Christ said that he that believes in Christ will do the works of Christ, and eve greater works shall he do.

The Bible doesn't teach that greatness is measured by how many people you raise from the dead or heal. Rather the greatest is the servant of all. One of the things one learns from a biography of Smith Wigglesworth is that he was a servant to his brethren.

I've also read that this made a commitment to win at least one soul a day to Christ. One night, as he was going to sleep, he was unable to, and he remembered he had won no one to Christ that day. So he went out in the night until he found someone to witness to.

If you disagree with a dead saint over a point of doctrine, or because of his healing people or raising people from the dead because of the grace the Lord gave him, that is no reason to speak against him in such a scoffing, sarcastic manner. What would you think of someone who disagreed with some point of doctrine that William Carey held to, and made fun of his name and person on a discussion list like this? Even if Carey held to a belief we do not agree with, we still have to respect his love and dedication to God.

I tell ya if everyone expects everybody to be perfect in every way, no wonder so many have looked to different denominations to find a place to belong. Smith (wether he had everything right or not) still had a fire to tell people about Jesus and get them saved if I rectolect that was his first priorty after he accepted Jesus. Would satan try and keep people out of Hell by telling them about Jesus?
BTW, Has anyone here ever felt compassion for total stranger and walked up and told them about Jesus and /or asked if they need prayer?
