For those of you who prefer the ESV over the NASB, I'd like to understand why, please.

Thank you in advance for your feedback and input. I appreciate your advice and assistance.

I keep hearing that the ESV is less "wooden " than the NAS, and that it has a nice literary style.

Would anyone here who agrees with that statement, please provide me with some specific examples of that.

I currently prefer the NAS myself, but I am open to persuasion.

Thank you for your valued input!

I used to be an NASB guy. When the ESV came out I read it but stuck with NASB. However, over the years I have transitioned to ESV. It is not as wooden as the NASB as you have said. Some of the translation choices of the NASB are wooden without necessity.

Both are exceptional translations. I prefer ESV, especially for preaching/teaching. I do always compare with NASB when I am doing personal study and sermon prep but ESV is my primary translation.

As far as examples:

Thank you! This is precisely the type of feedback I was looking for.

You are welcome. And since you are looking for a premium Bible...lol...here is my every day Bible. Crossway ESV Heirloom Legacy Bible (Goatskin, Brown) - evangelicalbible.com (Brown is so much cooler than black by the way)
Crossway makes a great high end Bible. I have the Omega thinline. I love it.

Mine is brown as well. The link is for black

Crossway ESV Omega Thinline Reference Bible, 80th Anniversary Edition, Black Goatskin - evangelicalbible.com
