Once again, Wildmon and his crew have way too much time on their hands. They need to get a hobby.

Their vocation is their hobby. Mr. Wildmon started his whole ministry in response to disgusting TV programing. He's not perfect, but he is on our side.

He's not on my side. I am not on the side of hate, boycotts & censorship. My TV has an off switch and I have 250 plus channels to find something I like. I don't need anyone censoring what I, as a free adult, can watch in my own home. ingh

I don't boycott. And I can't stand pressure to do so.

Ford most likely has christians in their employ.

We can find something to boycott with just about any company. Chrstians will end up living in animal skin tents farming for food if we submitted to every boycott call.

I know MP, by our side I meant the members of the Body of Christ.

No one is denying you the freedom to run your TV, though you ought to trash it. But with the inroads 250 channels can have into your life, you need help. I bet 240+ are no good. But that's your choice.

On the other hand, what gives you the authority to declare someone else hateful censors? As you have the right to watch the Playboy channel, I have the right to boycott anyone I want to, any time. And in this case, Ford motor co. is promoting normalization of deviant behavior, and I feel the check in my spirit declaring it wrong. I hadn't joined, but just did, thanks to your clarifying statement.

I mostly quit boycotting years ago, because it got out of hand, but I do make exceptions. Ford is actually and easy boycott for me personally, because I'm a Chevy fan, but no longer a big one. Limited to Corvettes.

On this issue, Ford absolutely needs to see that they'll pay a dear price for dignifying and promoting depravity. They must weigh the increased revenue from gays, against the losses by conservatives. This will probably not appeal to their consciences, but to their wallets.

To be consistant, you cannot just pick and choose who to boycott. If your boycotting stems from "promoting normalization of deviant behavior" it's kind of hypocritical to pick and choose based on your desires / needs, etc. Be consistant and boycott ALL companies that "promote normalization of deviant behavior".

I boycott Ford because they have consistently made inferior cars and trucks over the years (I used to be part of a "Ford family," but all of us has so much trouble with our vehicles we won't buy Fords again) as well as the consistently dishonest behavior of every Ford dealer I dealt with over a 15 year period from the early 1980s to the mid-1990s. I have never been treated as shabbily by a business as I consistently have with multiple Ford dealerships ... that includes charging me for repairs that were never performed, botching repairs that caused further mechanical problems, attempting to sell me unnecessary repairs, multiple lies, refusing to repair major problems under warranty near the end of the warranty period and then wanting to charge me for those repairs as soon as the warranty period expired, and at one point, returning my truck to me with a major fuel leak that poured gasoline all over the exhaust manifold as I drove away. I'm shocked the engine didn't catch fire going down the highway before I noticed the strong gasoline odor a few blocks away and shut down the engine on the side of the road...

I'll never do business with Ford again.

But the AFA doesn't have much credibility with me. During a time between 1988-1990 when I didn't have a television set, I used to read their magazine and believed what they said about the television shows they mentioned. About a year later, I started watching some of the shows and compared what they wrote about to what was actually happening. I realized that they were taking things outside of the context of the show and putting the worst spin possible on everything they referenced. It didn't matter if the show presented the "objectionable content" as a bad thing.

If the AFA were to review the Bible the same way they reviewed television shows, they would demand that the Bible be removed from circulation. And I can't support an organization that so completely misses the point.

Please be careful in your wording here. This comes very close to violating Posting Rules:
3. Show grace to the other posters.

and

4. Personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Please PM me for any needed clarification.

Well, I see your point, but the ones who's intent is "in your face" are the ones I'll boycott. And yes, I'll pick and choose as they come to light.

I was looking through my stock portfolio the other day with an eye toward this subject, and to my chagrin, in one mutual fund, I'm invested in a bunch of bad guys. But I'm unable to fix that quickly.

Hey, MP, hang in there. You are consistently on the side of the good guys when you post on this board. Don't let the Chihuahua-size debaters(a lot of yap with little substance) get ya down.

Well, I'm not going that far, but I don't like it when disagreements turn into holiness contests. You should not have your salvation doubted.

Discipleship, maybe. :saint:

Perhaps if Ford built a better automobile, I might boycott it. As it stands now, their shoddy product is enough for me not to buy their products.
