Jill Abramson, the former executive editor of the New York Times, admits that the newspaper is “unmistakably anti-Trump" in its news pages.

Abramson, who ran the paper from 2011 to 2014, "says the Times has a financial incentive to bash the president and that the imbalance is helping to erode its credibility," Fox News' Howard Kurtz reported on Wednesday.

"In a soon-to-be published book, 'Merchants of Truth,' that casts a skeptical eye on the news business, Abramson defends the Times in some ways but offers some harsh words for her successor, Dean Baquet. And Abramson, who was the paper’s only female executive editor until her firing, invoked Steve Bannon’s slam that in the Trump era the mainstream media have become the 'opposition party,' " he wrote

Wow! What a scoop. Why is this article being framed she like she is admitting to a crime. Hilarious.

“You are Anti-Trump”

Abramson, who ran the paper from 2011 to 2014, "says the Times has a financial incentive to bash the president..."

From the article:

Abramson also said, “Given its mostly liberal audience, there was an implicit financial reward for the Times in running lots of Trump stories, almost all of them negative: they drove big traffic numbers and, despite the blip of cancellations after the election, inflated subscription orders to levels no one anticipated.”

The failing New York Times, indeed.

Have you not bothered to notice how ignorantly and arrogantly the anti-Trump crowd favor the Times, the Post, and the MSM in general, considering them objective and balanced, and thus themselves as objectively informed, since they buy into all the MSM bias and fake news?

What's even crazier is that such admissions will have no negative effect on their influence. Those being deceived simply do not care that what they read, what they believe is false, so no whitewash needed. It isn't a scoop--it's the brazenness of the admission. 'Yes, we're supposed to be unbiased, but we never have been, that was always a lie. We just no longer have to worry about it anymore, and business is booming!' (paraphrased)

Part of it goes to part-owner Mexican Carlos Slim, who hates Trump personally. Slim is about as rich as Bill Gates. But the NYT, a former newspaper, was always leftist. Sixty years ago they had a communist reporter who covered for Castro and said that he wasn't a commie. I am thinking that during the Depression they liked Stalin and denied the famine in the Ukraine and elsewhere.

I’ve been on this board a while and have seen that Democrats haven’t exactly cornered the market on partisan media outlets. Come on now.

Maybe we disagree or maybe I wasn’t clear enough. I think we may be talking about two different things here. Of course there is bias everywhere, and our own is the most difficult to deal with. But the point is much different in this case.

You seem to be talking about people thinking for themselves to some degree versus being unthinking sheep. But I’m talking about the extremely leftist MSM and (with the help of the educational institutions and the entertainment industry) their mesmerizing hold on the vast majority of sheep.

They love to hate Trump so much now that even the shearers telling the sheep they are being fleeced (with the wool pulled down over their eyes) won’t matter at all. It is getting just that bad. They cannot tell they are being led to the slaughter, or don’t care.

“Guess what, sheep? We have been lying to you all along, including about lying to you, and we have been fleecing you in the process.”
“OK, but we hate Trump so much that we now knowingly love your lies. Please feed us more.”
“Of course. And thank you for your business. We want you to be plenty fat for the slaughter.”

That’s not a counterpoint. A comparable admission would be needed.

The result of such an admission, if real, would normally be disillusionment and disgust from a right thinking person, that is, someone who wanted the truth from their sources and thought that’s what they were getting. In this case, they are banking on their “left thinking” clients really wanting to be lied to, that is, that they have never cared about whether something was true or not.

Thank you!

Fox News tells you right away what is opinion and what is factual news. The Democrats blur the lines all the time. CNN puts out second-class opinions and calls them news. In the case of the NYT, a former newspaper, it should hurry up and shut down because it is an unreliable source of news and often reflects the opinions of Mexicans who hate America such as Carlos Slim, part-owner of the NYT, a former newspaper, who may be the richest man in the world since he is a crook and has control of the Mexican telephone industry thanks to an insider crooked deal with the Mexican government under President Carlos Salinas.

You aren’t going to get a comparable “admission” because Fox News doesn’t have the honesty to admit it. Maybe Shephard Smith but he is always shouted down. You can’t possibly be this naive.

Shep does say this about that: "I go home to the man I’m in love with."

No he doesn’t.

After years of broadcasting on the most popular cable-news channel in the nation, Shepard Smith of the Fox News Channel is now reportedly revealing that he is homosexual, joining the likes of other “gay” journalists who have come out of the closet, including Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon of CNN as well as Rachel Maddow of MSNBC.

Yes he’s gay. Okay. What does that have anything to do with what I said?

Nothing. As Jerry Seinfeld said, not that there's anything wrong with being gay. I never watched him because I think he is a pajama boy, too. Caveat emptor, Shep does opiniated news--he doesn't do straight news.
