ROFLOL!!! Now that there is hilarious, and I'm not even a Calvie! Don't you know we Baptist can fight over ANYTHING?

Put two Baptists in a room, and they will find something to fight about. Eventually they will split and one will form a new church.

I once saw a church almost split over how to remodel the sanctuary. Carpet color is a obviously a very important issue to some people!!!!

I heard of one splitting over a painting of Adam and Eve in the garden. The controversy was about whether either one of them had a belly button.

Who invited the womenfolk? :tongue3:

Excuse me, are you using MY signature smilie? :tongue3:

Ya know, if God had created us WOMEN folk first, Eve would have had all the animals named, groomed, and organized alphabetically; the garden landscaped, and meals planned and prepared a week in advance, just in case God created a hungry man for her to manage.

Well, you've done it now bringing up hungry men! You know what will come up next. Sunday lunch at home or out. Fried chicken or country fried steak. Really now!

A woman's place is in the home. She should go there immediately after work. :tongue3: :tongue3:... and I didn't see your name anywhere on that smilie.

There probably would not have been any need to create menfolk.

We don't need a separate thread for bashing each other. This is already it. And everybody is doing a good job at it. Fun, ain't it?

if all the Cals were banned there wouldnt be any fighting.

John

Yeah, right! I've been in two Baptist churches that split over petty reasons--one because the pastor and deacons decided, without consulting the members, to fill in windows on the back of the church for security reasons. A small group of people threw accusations at the pastor and deacons about "misappropriating funds", left and then wrote letters to members of the church with more accusations and name calling.

Another split over what color to make the new carpet--one group wanted red, and another group wanted blue. The ones who wanted blue left and started their own church where they could have the color of carpet they wanted.

If Christians can't get along because of petty differences, how can we expect a world of unbelievers to get along?

Now Jon, although i do agree with your premise here, do you really think that you know what pleases and displeaes the Lord?

Maybe God wants us to oppose Calvinism

John

Yes, I do know to some degree what pleases or displeases the Lord. Any sin displeases the Lord, and Christians loving one another is a commandment of God.

I know nothing about the doctrine of Calvinists other than their belief in "limited atonement". As I mentioned, the pastor I have now says he is a Calvinist. Since I have a fair knowledge of the truth of God's word, that is the only thing (so far) where I disagree with him.

Pardon my ignorance, but could someone explain to me why the Calvinists and non-Calvinists here can't seem to get along? Is there SO much doctrinal differences between the two that getting along without name calling is not possible?

I had a Catholic friend once. We discussed our differences in beliefs, disagreed with one another on nearly everything and continued to be friends. Just because I don't agree with someone 100% doctrinally doesn't mean we can't get along--nor does it make him my enemy. No, I don't compromise my beliefs in the least, but Satan is my enemy and not other people.

Ah, you're all just a bunch of doo doo heads.

Are we allowed to swear in these posts as Mr Bobby Hamilton just did? (d*o d*o) As soon as we let the camel's nose into the tent his whole body will take over! People will start using words such as: cr*p, Dar*, sho*t, number* and number*. Where will it end? [all tongue in jaw]....uhm...are we allowed to say cheek?
