Now Jon, although i do agree with your premise here, do you really think that you know what pleases and displeaes the Lord?
Maybe God wants us to oppose Calvinism
John
Yes, I do know to some degree what pleases or displeases the Lord. Any sin displeases the Lord, and Christians loving one another is a commandment of God.
I know nothing about the doctrine of Calvinists other than their belief in "limited atonement". As I mentioned, the pastor I have now says he is a Calvinist. Since I have a fair knowledge of the truth of God's word, that is the only thing (so far) where I disagree with him.
Pardon my ignorance, but could someone explain to me why the Calvinists and non-Calvinists here can't seem to get along? Is there SO much doctrinal differences between the two that getting along without name calling is not possible?
I had a Catholic friend once. We discussed our differences in beliefs, disagreed with one another on nearly everything and continued to be friends. Just because I don't agree with someone 100% doctrinally doesn't mean we can't get along--nor does it make him my enemy. No, I don't compromise my beliefs in the least, but Satan is my enemy and not other people.
