That still doesn't answer the question of how they were taken in the first place. At some point before they were loaded on the vehicles, they had to have realized what was going on.

(Barbarian observes that Americans treat prisoners humanely because we aren't like the terrorists)

Nope. Killing captives doesn't help one stay alive. The captives aren't in a position to kill. What killing captives does is coarsen one's soul to the point that God's regard for life is no longer a concern.

It probably follows that abusing enemy prisoners will lead to further abuse of our own captives, but that's not why we don't abuse them. We don't abuse them because we are Americans, and abusing or killing prisioners is despicable and contrary to our values.

Which is not to say that there haven't been Americans in almost all wars who have degenerated to the point that they accepted the values of the enemy. As you know, it seems to have happened in Iraq a few times.

Have people stolen things from you? Do you steal things, because being honest won't keep them from stealing from you?

Maybe not for you. For me, terrorists are poor models for decent behavior.

That was my point. The cruelty and evil of our enemies is not license to act that way ourselves.

    Follow Jesus, not Dick Cheney.

Prove to me what she said was irrelevant, Carpo. Even though I already have predetermined that you'll never be able to

Carpro seems to think that the only reason to treat prisoners humanely is to assure humane treatment for our prisoners.

I'm surprised a Christian would think so.

    Then why bother?

You probably think this thread is about our POWs being murdered. It's not.

    It's about theft.
