I live in New Jersey and we don’t have any race problems or public unrest... and this is a blue democrat state. I can only conclude that the unrest rests with trump and his instabilities.

you can't simply blame all the problems on the "left"! The present leader seems to be a very angry person and with his tone encourages hate. Further, it does not help when the police kill a black person, and found "not guilty", too many times.

How about all the police that ARE not guilty, yet are forced to quit, & suffer threats to their lives & their families. How about the cops who are injured or killed? Do we get rioting for them? No one seems to care, because by just letting the story drop from the headlines it leaves the original narrative in the minds of many. Anyone who buys the media narrative, & hasn’t learned by now that likely the real truth will not resemble the initial story, well, they sound a lot like you. Question, can America be "united" under Donald Trump? I read that he is trying to see ways that he can stay on as president, even if he does not win! Even if Joe does get in, the USA will probably be worse than it is today! The bigger problem is, that the USA with 50 "states", each doing their own thing, can never really be united. This experiment has failed, as it has in the EU!

Of course not. America cannot be united under any one. When America resorted to war to unite, unity was over. Since 1865 we have been united by the bayonet only.

All other attempts to present a 'united America' are just window dressing.

Even today everyone wants to talk about our 'diversity' as our strength. They say how America is so united around the covid crisis. Yet in all this unity, they tear down the Southernors monuments. Tear away his flag. Then all join hands and say how united we are.

What a joke. This facade of unity widens daily. And just because the band kept playing on the Titanic, didn't mean it wasn't doomed.
