When president Obama ranted about people like me, the ole bible thumping gun owning red necks, were you offended?
When he ranted about gun rights lobbyists, I agreed with him: I can sit back and say nothing no more than he could when, time and time and time again we had on the news yet another avoidable gun massacre, frequently involving children - how could any sane, caring human being, especially a Christian, do other, for goodness sake?!

Can you preach against it from the pulpit though? preach against Islam as a false religion?

Of coursee can, but we don't preach false religions, we preach Christ. If you preach against other religions, you are not preaching Christ Crucified. If you preach Saalvation in the finished work of Christ, you don't need to preach against other religions/ There are many Christian churches round here which are false religions.

The truth is that there are ways to curb gun violence, but killing off the 2nd amendment is not one of them! His rant just speaks to how those of us who love God, guns, and the Constitution are always getting ranting on by so called elites!

Paul would state that Islam was a false religion....

I doubt it. Did he always preach against paganism?

If you preach Christ the other religions are obvious. Trump may preach against Muslims and Mexicans, but then he is not a Christian.

Matt, I fail to see how this article is germane to this discussion. The article is based on excerpts from a book about a 1979 Colorado police investigation. The Times published it because a Spike Lee documentary based on it opens in London on August 24.
Others beg to differ snip

Well, he did state that the Judaizers should go all the way and emasculate themselves, so he pretty outspoken against those who messed with jesus and the good news, eh?

And all you have are personal insults and rudeness. Not what I would expect from a Christian or on a Christian board. Very sad

Oh please!!! Stop with the fake piety.

Who is it that insists Trump is a racist with no evidence at all against him? That's real Christian, isn't it?

Last time I checked, Trump wasn't a BB member, unless he's registered under a pseudonym. You and I are - surely that demands a more civil level of discourse (one finger pointed at you, three back at me)? Assuming you're a Christian, and assuming you extend the same benefit of the doubt back at me, you and I are going to have to spend eternity together whether we like it or not, so we might as well start practising that now.

Keith - point taken/ conceded.

It will be better, just as soon as you regain your sanity when it comes to President Trump.

Praying for that to take place.

Until that takes place, there can be no common ground. You have lost all objectivity and everything you say about him has to be taken with a grain of salt. Identity politics is eating you alive.

Ok, whatever, I tried to reach out and here we are.

Not exactly.

You use the "Trump is a racist" lie to shut down reasonable discussion. That's the left's fall back position for everything.

As long as you do that, it will not be reasonable.

He knows that. London is like Chicago. The Brits like to accuse people of racism--they are talking about their own blue blood.

This doesn't tell us anything except that yet another law officer infiltrated the KKK. One minute lefties describe the Klan as incompetant losers who carry tiki torches. The next they describe them as a major threat to civilization. You should make up your minds. The fact remains that there have been no lynchings in decades, and if you see Klan rallies there are many more counter protestors.

There was a report on last night's news that many leading republcans called Trump a traitor in regard with his summit with Putin.
