Did God (in the Council Halls of Eternity Past) predestinate people to become Free Will Baptists?

Seriously, the Free Will Baptists have a headquarters not too awfully far from me. Additionally, what used to be called the Free Will Baptist Bible College (now it's Welch College) is located in Nashville.

Seriously... there is no more humor left here.

I'm still befuddled by this rabbit thing.

I believe the foundation of it is "rabbit trails" which happens often in threads. He has taken it to deride those who he posts things he does not like.

Hmm... I thought he means the person's time was better spent running around chasing a rabbit.

[And thus the great divide on Rabbit Interpretation was born on BB....]

FWB Statement of Faith said:
Perseverance – We believe that there are strong grounds to hope that the saved will persevere unto the end and be saved because of the power of divine grace pledged for their support. We believe that any saved person who has sinned (whether we call him a backslider or sinner), but has a desire to repent, may do so and be restored to God’s favor and fellowship. Since man, however, continues to have free choice, it is possible because of temptations and the weakness of human flesh for him to fall into the practice of sin and to make shipwreck of his faith and be lost.

But do not be mislead, many Baptists, possibly a majority believe (1) our choice to trust in Christ is not compelled by irresistible grace, and (2) once God accepts our faith and places us in Christ, He hardens our faith such that we are unable to not trust in Christ. 1 Peter 1:3-5

Yes, and soon we'll probably divide into two different camps - yours and Mitchell's, and start being nasty to each other over the issue. :)

On second thought, being Baptists, two camps will not be enough. :)

Yet another of the "taint so" posts of Calvinism. Scripture however supports the view, as for example 2 Thessalonians 2:13. Now guess how many times Calvinism has denied it means what it says. :)

Hello Dr.V tm

Calvinism believes what that verse says, because it understands it.
Calvinism denies what you say 100% of the time, because it is error each and every time......:wavey::wavey:.
