I agree with you, Bartimaeus.....

people are far too often just using these drugs as an excuse to not deal with their children. I also agree that very often the case is true as Uncharted mentioned....that these are the sorts of people who truly "think outside that box", and we need to stop trying to squelch their creativity so much.

And mecidally hyperactive has many contra-reactions to drugs. Coffee (black, no sugar!) mellows them out, and some other drugs actually have the opposite effect on them than they do the average person.

But the question that was asked on the last page, about what to do now? Just be a consistent parent to your individual child. See them as people, learn what they need, why they are acting the way they are at that particular moment, and be consistent in reactions and consequences.

Its easier said than done, isn't it?
