From a RELIGIOUS Point of View: CAN MUSLIMS BE GOOD AMERICANS?

I came across this in an Email! Author unknown, but I wondered if this these principles noted as negatives, could also be applied to our Christian faith? What do you say????

This is very interesting and we all need to read it from start to finish. And send it on to everyone. Maybe this is why our American Muslims are so quiet and not speaking out about any atrocities.

Can a good Muslim be a good American?

Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon god of Arabia.

Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam.
(Quran,2:256)(Koran)

Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.

Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.

Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him. (Quran 4:34)

Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be
corrupt.

Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no. Because when we declare 'one nation under God,' The Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran's 99 excellent names.

* Therefore, after much study and deliberation...Perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both 'good' Muslims and 'good' Americans. Call it what you wish, it's still the truth. You had better believe it. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future.

The religious war is bigger than we know or understand!

Footnote:

The Muslims have said they will destroy us from within. SO FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.

The Military wants this message to roll all over the U.S. (there is no proof that this was written by a member in the armed services).

It would be easy for someone to work up a similar list regarding Christians.

The whole thing is wrongheaded.

I would just say that I believe Muslims can be good Americans for one basic reason, there is no one "True American." Just like there is no one true Christian. We can't say one is not a Christian because they embraced the wrong Eschatology, for example.

I think there is an error in trying to cast America as a Christian Nation, primarily that the faith expressed by some of the founding fathers I reject as a Christian. If I had to adopt the religious views of those I feel were Rational Theists, then I would not be labeled a "good American." The policy of freedom allows the Muslim to worship as he chooses, which the Americanized version might be compared to the Americanized version of Catholicism. If American Muslims had any real clue as to their origins, they wouldn't even want to be considered American, lol. Those who embrace Islam and do commit crimes against this nation are truer to Islam than those who have embraced the policy of freedom, and dwell in this country in peace. We don't see them flocking back to their countries, as we have witnessed Israel so doing, do we?

I look at it like this: those who associate themselves with Islam, who live peaceably in our country, are likely similar to nominal Christians, who though they associate themselves with Christianity, could not actually give you an adequate summary of the Gospel. This is why we have so many "Christians" endorsing homosexuality, abortion, and any number of practices that stand in contradiction with the regenerate heart.

Sure, they can be good Americans. Let's just hope they are, and that they are not Good Muslims.

God bless.

The answer is NO a muslim cannot be a good American if they practice the Islam of the Koran. If they do not practice it they are not muslims regardless what they claim.

Judith, you seem to be laboring under the misconception that all Muslims understand the Koran in exactly the same way. If that were so there would not be so many different sectarian divisions among Muslims.

Just as all Christians do not understand the bible in exactly the same way and thus there are 234 different denominations in the US.

As a Christian do you enjoy being identified with Fred Phelps or Steve Anderson?

Talk is cheap. I would like to see you make that list. I don't believe you can do it.

I'll take a crack at it:

Can a good Christian be a good American?

Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Christ. Not a temporal nation.

Religiously - no. Because Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship.

Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.

Geographically - no. Because Scripture makes it clear our citizenship is in Heaven.

Socially - no. Because Christianity is always distinguished from our social interaction with the world, no matter what country we live in.

Politically - no. Because we generally recognize the secular nature of politics and distinguish it from the Church. It is only when the two are viewed as one that the one who thinks themselves as Christians fall into a more secular worldview, rather than a Christian worldview. This is why we have "Christians" advocating homosexuality and abortion. They are American Christians, rather than Christian Americans.

Domestically - no. Because he rejects the view that two men or two women can be married in God's sight.

Intellectually - no. Because he would violate the principles mentioned above.

Philosophically - no. Because Christianity is not philosophy. It is built upon decisive statements from God Himself.

Spiritually - no. Because being an American is not a spiritual endeavor, and if one makes it one...they depart from a Scriptural view of what spirituality is.

God bless.

I think you would want to revisit and revise this point.

Oops, missed that one. Cannot edit it now. If you can, please insert: Scripturally- no. Because America is not a religious institution nor does it offer "holy writings." Replacing the Word of God with writings distinct to America would be Political Religion, not Christianity.

Thanks for pointing that out.

God bless.

With whom?

Brother .... I didn't think we had to explain our reasons. I just didn't like what you said because earlier you disliked my OP. I figured if you disliked my OP, then I should automatically disagree with your points, because we were in "disagreement" from the beginning. Does that make sense? If not, I"m sorry!

Except the post wasn't focused on your post. I think your OP is one of the handful I've marked disagree. And the disagreement is based on how Roman Catholics were perceived and dealt with over the years.
