I don't agree with that article's analysis on why Putin is doing what he is doing. Particularly these statements:

"Putin wants to reacquire as many of those trappings of Russia’s old empire as possible" - I see it as Russia merely trying to survive. They don't have the power or demographics to remake the USSR and Putin knows this.

"Nor did NATO act aggressively." - NATO is like the annoying kid on the playground sometimes. NATO has their finger a half inch from Russia's nose in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Poland and is saying "I'm not touching you! I'm not touching you!". And NATO was trying to add ANOTHER finger in front of Russia's nose with Ukraine when Putin finally had enough and swatted that finger away.

I also don't agree with the pearl clutching about "Civilians" and "Cities", which is mentioned in that article. War is war. People die. Cities are burned. Cities are part of a nation's war machine. If people want to complain about Putin and cities then I expect those same people to complain about Sherman, Dresden, Berlin, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki. We could also talk about all the tribes that Israel annihilated while forming their nation. God commanded it. God did not sin.

Those of us in the South learned the hard way that our genteel version of War, exercised in the War Between the States, was apparently outdated. And after we spared much of Pennsylvania, Scumbag Sherman decided to repay us by burning our churches, farms and communities. He learned us our lesson from then on.

Just to speak candidly, Putin is the aggressor. He has attacked Ukraine, destroying cities and killing women and children.

Your dismissal of this suffering is astonishing coming from a Christian. There is right and wrong here.

As far as the other cities you mentioned, the world fought back against Hitler and the Japanese, who were also the aggressors during WW2. I’m surprised you don’t see the difference between responding to aggression and being the victim of aggression.

I see NATO as the aggressor, not Russia in this instance.

In your mind what makes it OK to bomb German women and children in Dresden, and Japanese women and children in Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Either population centers ARE war targets, or they're not. You can't pick and choose and say "German and Japanese population centers are valid war targets, but Ukrainian ones are not".

Be hot or be cold. In other words, don't be lukewarm on this subject. My Biblical view is that population centers are valid war targets. See 1 Samuel 15:3 "Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey."

Exodus says the Lord is a Man of War. 1 Sam 15:3 shows us what the Lord considers war.

I’d rather have peace everywhere with no one targeting women and children. You claim God is called a “Man of War” in Exodus. I’m not familiar with that passage. Perhaps you could be more specific where scripture says “God is a Man of War”.

Again, my point is that responding to an aggressor nation is not the same as being the aggressor nation. So far, no Russian cities have been bombed, only Ukrainian.

I understand you believe the Russian propaganda and have chosen to regurgitate it here on the BB. Your comments concerning civilian deaths and suffering are very revealing concerning your beliefs and character.

Clearly, Putin is the aggressor to n Ukraine.

I found the passage in Exodus. My version says the “LORD is a warrior”, not God is a man of war.

In reference to the commandment from God to Saul to kill all the people in that land, including women and children, the context is key. God was using Israel as His hand of just punishment.

These people were worshippers of Baal and other false gods, that included human sacrifice and the sacrifice of babies. The command was to wipe this false religion out by killing those who practiced it, even women and children.

God gets to make those kinds of decisions, Putin does not.

So would I, but you and I both know that won't happen until Christ returns.

What I am saying is that I see NATO as the aggressor, Ukraine as the punching bag, and Russia as defending its sovereignty.

I have no idea what Russia propaganda is saying and I don't care what Russia propaganda is saying. My thoughts are my own and are shaped without the input of propaganda from the West or from Russia.

Your comments concerning civilian deaths and suffering are very revealing concerning your beliefs and character.

That's a good one HAHA! You don't know 5% of my character.

Russian propaganda is claiming Russia is “defending its sovereignty” by invading another country, bombing its cities and killing women and children.

The 5% of your character revealed in your pro-Russia posts do not bode well for the other 95%.
