I remember a couple of years ago someone posted one these with a Star Wars theme and Pentecostal churches, I think. I laughed so hard I about …. Oh never mind.

Funny part is the clip misapplied Colossians 3:16 in trying to make it's point (the verse tells to teach and admonish one another in wisdom, and to sing songs with gratitude).

There are many CCM songs that are nothing but psalms set to music. Ironically those psalms would fall short of Mr. Eastwood's expectations. After all, who wants to hear a man sing about longing as a deer panneth for water.....(yuck...right?). OR worse yet, that God is our lover and we are His.

I had a professor in Seminary that told the story that, as a younger man newly saved, he as upset with someone for singing a special music that wasn’t biblical.

When he confronted the person they pointed him to a psalm which was almost word for word part of the song.

He was duly embarrassed, humiliated and convicted.

I also had a brother in Christ at one church tell everyone we should only sing hymns… and he had picked out the 15 hymns that were worthy of being sung and they should all be sung at every meeting and the preacher should only preach no more than 15 minutes.

Each person has their own opinion I suppose.
