Funny Thing About Trump's Muslim, er, Terrorist, er, Refugee, er, Immigrant Ban

In an interview with David Muir of ABC News on Wednesday, here is what Trump said about the ban on immigrants:

It's not a Muslim ban. But it's countries that have tremendous terror. And it's countries that people are going to come in and cause us tremendous problems. Our country has enough problems without allowing people to come in who, in many cases or in some cases, are looking to do tremendous destruction.

I don't want terror in this country.
You look at what happened in San Bernardino. You look at what happened all over. You look at what happened in the World Trade Center.

We're not letting people in if we think there's even a little chance of some problem.

OK, that makes sense.

Here's the countries that are on the banned list:

Iran
Iraq
Libya
Somalia
Sudan
Syria
Yemen

What countries are not on the list, you know, countries that might harbor people that will "do tremendous destruction", "like San Bernardino" or "the World Trade Center", according to Trump?

Not on the list:

Afghanistan--training ground for 911 terrorists.

Pakistan--home country of San Bernardino terrorists.

Lebanon--country of one of the 911 terrorists.

Saudi Arabia--home of fifteen of the 911 terrorists

UAE--home of two of the 911 terrorists.

Other countries not on the list--any middle Eastern country where Trump has a business interest.

Until we can sort this inevitable threat to our sovereignty and safety out.

Problem solved.

I think that Saudi Arabia is not on the list simply for financial reasons.

I somewhat agree, but think it won't be long before we don't need Saudi Arabia's oil and when that happens and they start spending up all their reserves and economy begin to crumble I believe the sentiment toward them will quickly change.

It is not just the oil.

So ITL contends that Trump's decisions are solely based on his financial interests and bigotry. Got it.

No, I said it was a funny thing the way the countries he selected worked out. I said it makes sense to ban immigrants from countries that want to do us harm.

It makes no sense not to ban people from nations that have actually attacked us. It must just be a coincidence that countries with known terrorists are allowed in and those nations also house Trump businesses.

He just stuck with the list Obama had already compiled. That should make you happy.
