I think the way beef or chicken is acquired is very often cruel. I think the way a lot of veggies are acquired is often cruel to other farmers and our earth and environment, so I'm not complaining much about fur.
Fur is needed in many areas. That's not an issue. It depends where one lives. If one wants it, it's just like any other issue. Try to buy from someone reputable whenever possible or manage yourself.
It's odd to me that people judge those who do not live in extreme climates (or those that live in cold ones and never tried fur) are so quick to judge without having looked into what the products they do buy have done to animals because of the harm production of those synthetics does to the environment and the harm it can cause to humans.
I love animals with a passion. I strongly believe we should care for them and value them, right underneath human life, sometimes a little more than other adult humans because they are more helpless. IE there's a reason you take care of your critters in the morning before you go feed the humans. The humans know they can wait a little and still be comfortable, right? Your animals will worry and stress out if you don't get them set for the day!
There are even commands for how to kill an animal that leads to the least amount of suffering. That is good for both the animal and for the human who is going to consume it, as fear causes certain hormones to be released into the bloodstream of the animals and thus into the meat, which isn't good for humans.
Gd had reasons for everything told to us in the Bible. We should listen.
As far as furs? It sure sound like the first animal sacrificed didn't go to waste. It sounds like the skin, if not also the fur, was used for clothing. Who are we to turn around and say that we discovered something better than what Gd provided for us? That's pretty darn lofty minded thinking on our part, isn't it?
