"If there are elderly who need help, it is the fault of their children who are refusing to help them."

Some of us children are in as bad a condition as the parents! Everything is so over regulated that it's a wonder our economy functions at all.

I neglected yesterday to post that gasoline in the Netherlands is running at the equivalent of $6.50 per gallon. All of a sudden, $2.65 doesn't seem so bad.

How does the price of other products in Europe compare to that of the U.S. Like Automobiles, homes, apartments, etc. Here in Florida you can purchase a 3 bedroom 2 bath house (brand new) for about $130,000. I have a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with a garage and a screened in lanai and I pay $725.00 a month. What would that cost in Europe? Just curious.

Depends on the area ofcourse.
But there are plenty of areas where you would have to pay twice that and I'm not talking about the European equivalence of living in the heart of Manhattan.

Wow, a 3 bedroom 2 bath house (brand new) would go for about 800,000 to 1.3 million around here depending on neighborhood and acreage - and I live on the cheap side of the river (Hudson). A two-bedroom, two bath apartment (I don't know what a "lanai" is) goes for about $1,300.
