Scripture doesn't say about time but there is a sequence or order of events. The devil had nothing to do with the nature of the universe. Adam's fall caused the entire universe to be cursed and eventually it will be burnt up, right?
If the earth was without form etc., it is because it was a construction project so to speak. It is the way God did it.
Seeing, then, the children have partaken of flesh and blood, he himself also in like manner did take part of the same, that through death he might destroy him having the power of death -- that is, the devil -- Heb 2:14
Relative to that verse, let me ask. Was, death, necessary for the destruction of the devil?
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Gen 1:31
Let me again ask. At the end of the sixth day, where was the devil? Did the devil at the end of the sixth day need to be destroyed? Did God, at the end of the sixth day, already have a plan of how he was going to destroy the devil. At the end of the sixth day,did that plan include death? At the end of the sixth day, where was death going to come from? What was going to bring about death. At the end of the sixth day, did the plan include the Son of God being born of a virgin, woman?
for to vanity was the creation made subject -- not of its will, but because of Him who did subject it -- in hope, Rom 8:20
In your opinion, was the creation made subject to vanity before of after the sin of Adam? I believe before.
