George W Bush's Military Service

The National Guard in general hasn't been questioned. The service of one individual has been questioned.

The article also states that there is no record of him doing some hours of training. Here is where it gets sticky. There are people who say that they saw him there, yet there is no record of him being there. While this can warrant negative action, it can be waived, meaning that he could have been excused.

Anyone with experiencing running anything with an admin element understands how very easy it is for paperwork to get lost or in fact never submitted in the first place. My final OER was almost a year overdue because my old boss simply didn't write it and apparently nobody (local or HRC level) really cared it was delinquent. Furthermore, I am still waiting for drill pay from ARNG duty from over a year ago. It's finally processing now, and guess what part of the problem was: missing records on their part.

If people can show up and drill these days and still get paid without signing in, then I'm sure it was just the same "back in the day."

And as far as the Active Duty vs Reserve Component argument goes, I've seen studs and sand-baggers in both. The benefit of AD folks is having folks who are trained full-time are therefore are ostensibly ready to go at a moment's notice. The Reserve component folks require train-up, but perhaps they are more willing to think outside the often very limited Army mentality / way of doing things.

When I first arrived at my first duty station, it took over a year for my command sponsorship paperwork to finally get approved. The problem was that my EFMP paperwork got lost. Three times! On the plus side, I got back pay for my COLA, and ended up getting a lump sum payment. It felt like Christmas .

Point is, I hear ya on that point. It could very easily have been that he was there, and the records were misplaced. That's one of the reasons why George W Bush's Military "Mystery" doesn't bother me too much.

Is acting like a spoiled brat something they teach you in the USMC? Or did you pick it up somewhere else?

Your opinion is not based on the facts nor personal experience.

It's based purely on hate for George W. Bush. Therefore, your opinion about the quality of his service simply doesn't matter.

Carpo, I just dont understand why Private First Class Wade would hate Bush? Do you suppose his DMOS is not his PMOS? Or did his POV prevent him from getting to his PCS? Or mabye he thought the IG prep for the CINC visit was just too much. Or could be that since he lost some TA-50, they deducted it from his LES?
