My opinion: The African American church in the USA has a deeper walk with our Sovereign King, Jesus, than most churches in the US.

In my opinion, it's impossible for a Christian to support the Democrat party. The Democrats are at war with Christian freedom and values. The last election was a referendum on identity politics, whereby Democrats want to see everyone through a prism of their ignorant bigotries: racism, sexism, and other isms. That includes how they respond to such things as the murder mentioned in the first post, which is what that post is about, not the murder itself as you pretend.

Blacks overwhelmingly support the Democrat party. Black children overwhelmingly are born out of wedlock. Young black men overwhelmingly live lifestyles of crime and drug abuse. Blacks overwhelming practice naked racism. Blacks might be more religious, but their walk with Christ sure isn't deep.

In my opinion, it's racist to refer to blacks as African Americans. To start with, it's racial pandering.

Also, no thanks to you for trying to turn this topic into something about blacks, instead of about the Left as the first post intended.

OK but it is more than that.

Racism is based upon a delusion and a lie.

There is only one race: The human race.

Acts 17
24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

Anything more than that comes from the father of lies.

Of course there is only one race. But, if you are a white male in the United States you are born with privileges and assumptions built into society, which open doors in careers that others are not given. That privilege, based upon skin color, is racism.
White Christians in the US may be born and raised in this system and never recognize the privileges afforded nor see how those privileges are there because of racism.
We Christians ought to denounce such racism in society and admit that White Christians have a societally built in privilege, which should extend to all persons, not just white people.

Many Black Americans are Christians with a deeper faith than their White brothers and sisters. They find themselves in the Democratic Party because of the racism they face from those who should be their brothers and sisters in Christ. They recognize the sins of the Democratic Party, but also see that Democrats actually get their hands into the community and try to assist with very real needs. In other words; They help those who are sick and in prison. They are the good Samaritans while the Republicans act like the Scribes and Pharisees that walk by and never offer help.
There is a very "non-Christian" element in the Republican Party. This is precisely why I could not support either elite political party this past fall. We have two parties who are not in step with our King, Jesus.

The OP made it about Blacks and how the left wouldn't say anything bad about the assailants because they were Black. It was a foolish correlation based upon a racist presupposition.

I am Caucasian but was not born into/with "white" privilege.
I grew up in a slum and lived many years in a roach infested housing project in New Orleans.
My step father spent considerable time in prison.
My mother was on welfare, I had to odd jobs and/or go begging to certain charitable entities as a teenager to feed my brothers and sisters.
I ended up in juvenile hall.

At age 17 an aunt and uncle (who had become my legal guardians) signed me into the military.
At age 19 I was saved and my life turned around.
After my DD214/HD I pursued and graduated from college, first secular as an engineer with graduate work, then Bible Language Studies (Greek, Hebrew, Theology).
My college was paid for under the GI Bill available to ALL.

My present profession - retired senior software architect/engineer (occasional contract work).
No door of privilege was ever opened to me because I am/was "white" but because I was educated in my field of science as well as others who were not "white".

Admittedly there is privileged for being a veteran but that does in no way depend on skin color.

Nothing (underline "nothing") I accomplished was because I am classified as a white male (although the grace of God was with me).

What you say may be true for others but it was not so for me.
So I can not admit to something for which I have not seen or experienced.

I am a pro-life former blue/yellow dog JFK Democrat and was in agreement with the LBJ Civil Rights Act.

Hank, by virtue of your white skin you get treated differently and receive benefits from it.
You may have been born into a dysfunctional family, but your skin color gave you advantages over people who were at the same social status as you, but had dark skin. There is no need to apologize to others for our skin tones. God gave us the pigment he chose to give us. But, in the US, skin tone has its privileges.

Like I said - couldn't prove it by me. Indeed, I was from a broken, dysfunctional family.

But yes, I do remember taking the streetcar to school (welfare provided) in NOLA and the black skinned kids had to sit in the back of the streetcar (there was a moveable sign after the first 6 rows or so - "black patrons only" - after the sign). So for whatever that privilege got me (sitting up front) I could sit up front. This was in the 50's before the Civil Rights Act. Also my school - Fortier Senior High was ALL white at the time.

While in the service at my PPS we were quite an homogenized squadron but were virtually and mentally race free. In my 4 years in the service I did not see one racial experience. Oh, there were fights but not about race (somebody cheated at cards, etc). However we would on occasion taunt each other with ethnic slurs.

To be forthright I do believe you that "white privilege' exists and agree that it is an injustice.

Hank, I understand poverty as well. But, I lived in an area where indigenous people were looked down upon by white folks just because it gave them a sense of superiority.
Look at this thread where one person claimed that being a criminal was in the DNA of black persons.
Privilege does not have to be seen financially. You share about being able to ride in the front of the bus for example.
I have a Black brother in Christ for whom God has blessed him abundantly with money. Yet, he will often get stopped in affluent neighborhoods while driving his BMW. The police wonder how a black man can have a nice car and not be a drug dealer. It is sad and depressing that my brother in Christ has to constantly look over his shoulder and explain to people how he has worked hard for everything he owns and has legitimately earned everything he has. I can drive that same car, despite being lower middle class and no police officer will even turn their head and wonder.
As Christians we can get caught up in societies prejudice and express it ourselves. The Bible shows this when we read about Peter pulling back from eating with Gentiles once his Jewish brothers came over to the party. Paul rightly called Peter out on the issue and told Peter to repent. Was Paul breaking Jesus command to not judge lest ye be judged? No. Paul was right in his criticism of Peter.

To be honest I thought he meant the sin nature which was passed on to ALL of us by Adam.

Paul may or may not have been right. If he was being hypocritical then judgment awaited him somewhere along the way. Also prejudice works both ways.
I had a taste of prejudice in Hawaii where some folks there look down their nose at white folk calling us "haole".

Also, I had a dear Christian lady angry with me once because I have a beard.

Prejudice knows no skin color but I agree it has no place among Christians - like any other sin.

Back to the point that we both agree upon. There is only one race. The human race.

Cast that idiocy to bloody hell. I worked 9 years fulltime while earning a degree in statistics, and then no one would hire me in that field (and I do have your derogatory quality of being white). If you support yourself, go entirely on your own with no loans and no family support, that's a very negative thing in this freakin country. But if you're dependent and claim your background is to blame for poor grades or bad conduct, that's rewarded, as by "affirmative action" or the Attorney General's refusal to prosecute voter imtimidaters because they're the 'right' color.

And if there's only one race, there is no such thing as racism.

I agree with Alcott. The term racist is bandied about like a ping pong ball. Blacks who cry "white racism" so often are relying on white guilt and it is wearing thin. Walter Williams, a conservative black author and columnist said he was going to issue some notices relieving whites of the "racist" slogan slung around to the degree that it has no meaning any longer.

By the way, when I use the word "blacks" I do not mean all or even most people of color.

Blacks want to hold the victim card as long as possible --but it has worn out long ago. When crimes are committed white racism has nothing to do with it. It's not a magic wand that can be waved about to absolve criminal conduct.

People of whatever color are accountable for their actions when breaking the law. They are responsible for what they do --no one else.

White people who put blacks in a special class and regard them as defenseless group who
deserve the privilege of not having the book thrown at them --are themselves a stench in the nostrils of decent blacks. There is certainly too much black privilege in today's society.

If whites show reluctance to engage a bunch of black teens or move to the other side of the street --it's not racism. It is a logical fear based on their knowledge and experience. Even Jesse Jackson has acknowledged that. He expressed relief when the footsteps approaching him were that of white teens instead that of blacks. I ask you --is that racism? Of course not. It's just common sense.

If people want to deny the elephant in the room --way out of proportion violent black crime in America. They are liars and deceiving themselves.

Whites and Asians do not do the beastly things that usually young blacks do --both male and female. But there are lots of videos as evidence that we are experiencing unprecedented levels of extremely violent crime by blacks. You need to check out Colin Flaherty's YouTube podcast sometime. I have watched hundreds of hours of senseless and unspeakable crimes being done by these people. There is more than enough evidence that America --whites and Asians in particular are in deep, deep trouble. Hardly anyone wants to talk about the obvious facts. I am speaking out about it.

Thug culture is taking over, --rap "music" is influencing conduct. It has to be stopped. Decent blacks are getting fewer and fewer in number.

I say this loud and clear --whites and Asians are victims of overwhelming black criminality. It's the very reverse of the nonsense being promulgated by the MSM.

I ask you --where is there evidence of gangs of whites doing flash mobs in malls? Where can you point me to hundreds of whites doing the knockout game? Show me where whites are raping 90 year old women and pre-teen girls in ever-increasing numbers? Please demonstrate that whites are responsible for assaulting black people and robbing them all across America every day? Are whites guilty of murder getting off scott free because of witness intimidation all over the USA?

Wow. No Racism there.
Indeed.

While there is no biological difference beyond skin tone, people still make value judgments of worth based upon skin tone. The term "Race" is based on such a value judgment. Like any caste system there is a dividing of power. In this case the power is divided by skin tone. It is simplistic and lacking any depth of reasoning, yet people are prone to dividing by skin tone in the USA.
It's odd to see people argue that it doesn't exist while simultaneously exhibiting racist beliefs.
I admit that I receive privileges from being a white male in the US. But, I also pray that I will stand up for my brothers and sisters of color when they are discriminated against and treated unfairly because their skin tone or gender is not like mine. May we all stand and seek justice.

Within the months of January and February, exactly what privileges have you experienced for being white, and who and how were discriminated against as you were favored?

I can drive in my city without the police stopping me in suspicion that I may be a criminal.
I can walk into a store and not have the clerk track my movement out of concern for what I might do. I don't have to tell my children how to act so that they aren't suspected of wrong doing. I don't have to tell them how to respond when confronted by the police.
Being white has privileges. I accept this as a reality, but I also stand up for my brothers and sisters of color who are not afforded that privilege. I call out injustice when I see it. That’s what we as Christians ought to do when we see someone being mistreated.
We ought also to evaluate ourselves to see what kind of societal prejudices we've adopted that are not in line with God's word regarding the treatment of others. As Christians we are not magically exempt from being prejudiced and racist. When we see such attitudes and behaviors in our lives, we ought to immediately repent.

I agree with all of the above.

But the savagery I was outlining is way beyond mere racism and dicrimination against whites and Asians. Such beastly conduct has not been condemned by the black community at large. Justice is not a one-way street. Many blacks are the most violent racists on the planet. But they would claim that they are incapable of that by virtue of their skin tone.
