Why do we listen to such people!? Would you listen to the same financial planner who keeps getting it wrong?

Guess what! Ehrlich was correct. His predictions seem to be about 50 to 80 years too early, that's all. What he said will happen in one form or another. Erhlich could not forsee technological advances that would allow more people to eat. Those advances have been spent, and the population still rises.
Like Solomon said. --When goods are increased, they are increased that eat them.
Paul Ehrlich's predictions will still come true, it is just at a later date.
The population bomb is getting a shorter fuse and closer to exploding. I suspect that famine and disease in the future will cause death by the millions and even tens of millions.

Proper grammar is "will be ". In other words you are predicting that his prediction is correct.

Solomon also said "There is nothing new under the sun". Just like people falling for doomsayer predictions and living a life of doom and gloom.


Does the world have problems? Are people starving? Will millions die in the future? Perhaps. But the global warming crowd, Al Gore and the rest of his Hollywood crowd, are not where to look for solutions.

There is more to their agenda than saving the planet. God's people have Good News and should be proclaiming it.

The issue is not so much, "Is the planet getting warmer?" It is. It has in the past, and it cools off, and gets warmer again. All is well.

The issue is "Is the planet getting warmer as a result of human activity?"

I don't believe it is. One fact seals the deal for me: Mars is warming at the same rate that Earth is. Is that the result of human activity, too? Maybe the Mars Rover is up there, idling away, filling the Martian atmosphere with CO :laugh: !

Aren't these the same "scientists" who told us we were heading into a new Ice Age in the 80's in high school? That didn't happen, so now we're all going to burn up?

Wouldn't global warming mean lower heating bills in the winter, and longer growing seasons which would produce more food? Sounds like a good thing.

It is a good thing. At one time the USA was all ice was it not? God controls these conditions not man. Anyone letting this global warming talk bother them is merely displaying a lack of faith and knowledge of just Who it is that governs this world.

Enjoy the extra warmth (what is it, 1 degree) because God just might drop it 2 degrees next year. I don't like those long cold winters we see here in Pa now and again. This year has been blissful so far! I actually pray for no -9's this year. I hate those mornings. I don't know how those Canadians stand it up there. I guess it is a trade off for the beautiful cool summers.

I still note I've used more scripture in this
discussion than most. I think my faith
is total & complete. I learned in grammer school
what was called 'Conservation'.
We Christians are supposed to be good
Conservationists. Bad conservationists

of just Who it is that governs this world. Truth is not to belittle, but rather for a call to repentance. Trust in God to take care of the earth's temperature. If He wants it to increase then who are we to shake our fist to try in stop it? As if we could anyways! :wavey:

Let's stay in reality here. One, it is not proven that human activity causes the planet to warm. Two, it is proven that the earth has cooled and warmed by the governship of our Lord Jesus Christ throughout time.

If a person is going to believe something, they aught
to try believing the truth.

I don't have the data to figure out the volume
needed to hold the 20.5 Million barrels* of oil per day
that is used in the USofA.

* page 585, TIME ALMANAC 2006 (Time, 2005)

But I can get fairly close. I've seen a 55 gallon
oil drum (i.e. 1 barrel). Maybe it is 4 cubic feet.
That would be a total daily use in the USofA
of 82 Million cubiic feet. Think of
a tower whose footprint is 100' x 100'
that is 8200 feet high (nearly 1½miles).
That is how much oil we are burning (well
93% of it) each day.

I know in Oklahoma City in exciting central
Oklahoma there are two trash/dirt piles
some ½-mile times ½-mile wide and over 400 feet
high. They both rise 400 feet over the
central Oklahoma plain - the second and third
tallest places in Oklahoma. (there is a hill in the
panhandle about 500 feet high).
Jesus wants us to make big piles of trash
and overheat the planet?

Do we humans have the right to undo what
the Lord Jesus Christ has done?

If we burn 90% of the known Earth oil resources
in 60 years the polar regions will get up to 100ºF on winter
days. The southern ag area will feed 200 Million,
the northern ag area will feed 400 million. That is Max..
The mini. would be better.

The same oil can be burned in 3,000 years and NOT effect
the average Earth temperature.
Some of us here will have grandchildren living 60 years
from now -- if the Lord tarries. It does matter what we
do, if the Lord tarries.

Barrels per year used in the USofA:

1950 - 2,375 Million - 6.5 Milliion barrells per day
1974 - 5,364 Million - 14.7 Million barrells per day
2000 (projected) - 12,985 Million - 35.6 Milliion barrels per day

(note how the projections were high)
2004 actual - 20.5 Milliion barrels per day
(but that has trippled in 50 years)

The CO2 production of greenhouse gases
is porportional to the barrels of oil used.

Amazing, that given the fact that we can benefit from slightly higher percentages of both O2 and CO2 in our atmospheric make up, we choose to bastardize the CO2. Any competent scientist would tell you that an increase in both would bring about gains and few losses.

Nitrogen makes up about 80%, Oxygen about 18%, and the Carbon Dioxide just a small but very important part of the remaining 2% or so. But alas we have virtually no control of it at all. But the Lord does, and he knew our future, and provided an ample globe with checks and balances.

As CO2 rises, plant life thrives, producing O2. self regulating....Isn't God wonderful?
