    Justified,

As an IFB, I have for a long time struggled with exactly how to handle the issues surrouding those like Billy Graham. With him as an example, here's pretty much the conclusion that I have come to:

    1. Tell the truth about his compromises when that is the topic at hand.

    2. Don't go out of my way to bring the subject up, but also don't strenuously avoid it when it needs to be addressed.

    3. Address the question or issue at hand, as opposed to turning every mention of his name to the question of his compromises.

    4. Wish that I have done as much good for God's kingdom as he has, and be thankful that I have avoided some of his pitfalls.

By the way, I am so glad that Franklin has said the things he has. I've said them too, but they didn't put me in the news. ;)

    Pen,

    Agreed, and me too! :D

But, it does bother me to an extent when I see Baptist, beating the drum for an ecumenical preacher, when there are so many others that are serious about the holiness of our God, and no helping hand or prayer for these preachers. :(

”Conservatives- Theology dictates morality/Liberals- morality dictates Theology” Justified Version ;)

Okay, folks, let's get back to the subject at hand Young Graham's statement on Islam and Islamic reaction to it. You can also include your take on any non-Islamic comments to the statement.

However, the (as some would term them and others not) eccuminical activities of Clan Graham are best not discussed here in any depth. Please start a Clan Graham thread on the Denominations Forum, if you desire to dive deep into that pond.

I offer my humble apologies to you The Squire, the Moderator of this forum, and for Bro. Justified, for not being able to see the multi-layered topical possibility of this thread. Hope you'll forgive this country boy for his inability to see beyond his nose, and you can lovingly agree that occasionally we may disagree on matters pertaining to human interactions - but not on the matters of faith (or we shouldn't). Ecumenical means joining together of the many faiths. In this case standing with many different denominations from Lutherans to Catholics to Baptist to Assemblies, etc. The Grahams are evangelists. They are not leading a specific local church, so their out reach to all people, I think is not only acceptable, but desirable. It is different from a local pastor. I am biased though. My father-in-law was saved at a Billy Graham Crusade decades ago. I think many will be amazed at the jewels in Billy Graham's crown when they meet him in heaven.

Well. . to an extent I kind of agree with that mindset. I mean. . it's not only Baptists that will be in Heaven. Most of the churches I preach in (and definitely the ones I sing in) are non-Baptists. As an Evangelist doors open in that direction a great deal. Now. . Catholic is pushing it a bit, but I have no problem with worship with non-Baptists.
