I have only my social security check, no health insurance and see my cancer doctor this month. I pay out of pocket for all medical and meds. My check comes in at $1000/month and auto insurance a year and property taxes eat most of two checks. That's all I have. I give to the church and to a benevolence fund offering. My home is over 10 miles to the nearest grocery store and 6 miles to church, one way. What else would you suggest that I do with all my income?

Sorry to hear about the C word but you should qualify for the additional $250 being mailed out this month. I know it's not a lot but hopefully it will arrive at a good time and will serve as a blessing in your life.

My mother gets a little over $800 so I am a witness of how tight fixed income living can be.
