"Doctrine of Grace" is one thing --- "DoctrineS of Grace" is Calvinism/Reform Theology.

I know very well that the term is "Doctrines of Grace.
I was quoting a Calvinist word for word when I said "Doctrine of Grace," :laugh: just as some of our dear Calvies are ripping into my typos and spelling mistakes right now.

I see. So now its ok if I call non calvinist free willies? Ok.
I really wanted to change the way I responded to FREE WILLIES.... but since a moderator thinks its ok to talk down to people, I suppose I'll follow that example.

Slang offends you. Spelling mistakes offend you. Typing mistakes offend you. What doesn't offend you. I believe all of these are red herrings. They are simply tactics to avoid dealing with the issues. Instead of replying to a response or post in your own words you quote a creed. Instead of appealing to Scripture you appeal to a creed.
Can't you do better than that? Must you resort to thest tactics to get the subject away from the OP?

Milk

It is so hard to feed men pure milk when they still need it. We are to go unto maturity, but not by forgetting the pure milk of God's word that brought us life.

Maturity , the meat of God's word is to not to just depend on others to feed us, but maturity is when we are not just able to feed ourselves, but to feed others.

Paul is right today as he was then, they still need milk.

Teaching men to believe in Jesus is still important, but those who think they are mature are trying to feed men meat they are not ready for and they themselves don't even understand it.

Calvinism

The basic belief of the Calvinist have been around since the day of Paul, but he even went against this teaching when he wrote a letter to Timothy saying that God wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge and emphasize i'm not lying.

They will even argue with Paul.

All you can really do is continue to give them milk. That they think they have so far past, but need it so desperately.

Peter has warned us that men will misunderstand Paul teaching to thier own destruction.

Not even the elect of God can be saved without belief and repentance.

We are to mature and not have to continue to be taught to believe and believe and not to continue to have to repent of things we continue to do wrong but living a holy life that Christ in us will help us do. Then go on to teach others this is maturity.

First, would you please change that head-banger. It makes my head hurt just thinking about it! :laugh:

As to the thread -- Calvinists think that "regeneration precedes faith" which many of us take to mean that salvation precedes belief. In old Calvinism as well as in Catholicism today, regeneration comes at infant baptism. To me, that is where the order got established and "vetted" with Bible verses. Only now Calvinists don't believe infant baptism does it. They think it happens anywhere from days to a micro-instant before they have faith (coincides IMO with them just thinking about Christ if it ends in faith).

Of course, you and I say belief has to come first, but that doesn't satisfy the Calvinist view that it is God that saves, not anything that we do like "believe" (though Rom 4:5 clearly says "belief" is not a "work"). Do you see how that works? God "elects" them in eternity past --- then, at some point in their lives, He regenerates them into "spiritual men" (what we call "saved") --- then they can hear and believe the gospel.
