God Forgive Those Who Have Done Nothing

I wonder how many people these deadbeats have lead to the Lord. When we went out soulwiining we felt that if we didn't lead a dozen to Christ we failed the mark. Most of these deadbeats don't go soulwinning they spend their days making stupid remarks about those who have done something for God. Go win someone to Christ and you will enjoy it so much you will push yourself for another one and so on. Give God the glory and watch the results instead of what you are doing now.

Wow! You really have a low opinion of other Christians and a very high opinion of yourself. And I find that very sad. :(

Ok, let's break this down, shall we.

  • "I wonder how many people these deadbeats have lead to the Lord."
Who are "these deadbeats"? It always helps to start a conversation knowing who one is talking about. On the other hand, are we just engaging in gossip about "these deadbeats" or is this a matter we should be talking about with them?

  • "When we went out soulwiining we felt that if we didn't lead a dozen to Christ we failed the mark."
Who is "we"?
Does this mean "we" DON'T go out "soulwinning" any more?
Does that now make you a "deadbeat" as well?
Is "failed the mark" like "missing the mark" and a reference to the literal translation of the word for "sin"?
Are you claiming that leading fewer than 12 people to Christ is a sin?
I was always taught that it is the Holy Spirit that ultimately saves people and we only plant a seed or water a seed. Is this not your understanding?

  • "Most of these deadbeats don't go soulwinning they spend their days making stupid remarks about those who have done something for God."
Which bothers you more, the lack of "soulwinning" or the "stupid remarks"?
Could you be more specific? Perhaps an example?
How do you obtain information on how other people spend their days?

  • "Go win someone to Christ and you will enjoy it so much you will push yourself for another one and so on. Give God the glory and watch the results instead of what you are doing now."
Have you really come on a site where Christians discuss Christian topics to tell everyone to stop posting on Christian sites because it makes us all "deadbeats"?
Haven't you, in fact, wasted your time telling us to stop wasting our time?
Has your effort here either led anyone to Christ or edified anyone already in Christ?
Are you the anti-Barnabus ... come to exercise your Spiritual Gift of DISCOURAGEMENT?

I look forward to hearing your reply in the hopes that Iron can sharpen Iron.
God Bless,
:)

I see he has read Zig Zigglar's book "How to win friends and influence people."

It is doubtful you have done much of anything , other than try and steamroller over unsaved persons, trying to get them to consent to some prescripted, canned presentation.
You go out in the strength of the flesh....no need to wait on God....then make claims of dozens being swept into the Kingdom....the day of Pentecost cannot compare to your methods....Rick Warren, and Andy Stanley....are just peachy keen.....everyone else is a deadbeat....yes...we got it.

So Jeremiah, who led none to the lord, was a deadbeat then?
Or Jesus himslf, who got the crowd to yell crucify Him, not praise Him?

With respect, I used to hear this type of preaching in IFB circles when I was a kid.

The premise was, "everyone is supposed to be a soul winner"...then I read Ephesians 4, and that sealed it for me. To me, believers each have our spiritual gifts, and God fits out preachers and teachers. I'm not an evangelist, and if someone tries to cram me into a mold that God has not fitted me out for, I get a bad feeling I shouldn't be trying to do it.

I say, let the preacher preach, the teachers teach, and the evangelists do the evangelizing.

But what about the "Great Commission"?
IMO, that was for the body of Christ through His properly gifted ones....I'm more of an administrative type who gives lots of time and helps my brothers and sisters with earthly needs.

"Soul Winning"? God knows best who to use.

May God bless you.

Yes and no offense meant to others but the best soul winner I know is Jesus Christ... Do those who go soul winning do you win the soul or by the unction of the Holy Spirit convict the soul that's already been won?... My eternal salvation is in Jesus Christ alone... Amazing Grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me!... Brother Glen:)

Jeremiah had NO converts in his ministry, and jesus had them yell crucify Him, were they deadbeats?
And how many can any of us save, isn't that the work of the Holy Spirit Himself?

He did, as God decided to save none during jeremiah, and few in time of Christ!

Well at that rate their will only be a handful in Heaven... Then what are you going to do with these verses... So much for your few theory... Brother Glen:)

Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

7:10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

Matthew 7:13-14, there will be many saved, but many more lost it seems!

I think he is referring to Noah.

Preached for 120 years and not one -non-family member convert.
I wonder how many times they sang "Just As I Am"

Pastor Sam, Who are the deadbeats?

BB members? In any event how do you know they don't "go soulwinning"?
How do you know if they give their money and support to missionaries who do go soulwinning? shouldn't that make a difference?
Or perhaps they are not well enough to get out, don't have money to spare but are in prayer for missionaries and soulwinners.
