I like some Christian Rock (like Switchfoot). Not a fan of Christian Metal (some Demon Hunter songs are good when the guy actually sings).

Obviously that type of music is not what we have been discussing (for those unaware). Christian Rock, Christian Rap, Christian Country, Christian Southern Rock....these are just those genres with Christian lyrics.

It is the same style of music the IFB folks listen to when driving around but the lyrics are Christian themed.

That is NOT Contemporary Worship Music.
Well, if the words hadn’t been posted, I wouldn’t have had any idea if they were “singing” or having seizures. Since it is still socially unacceptable to video seizures for amusement (as it should be) I assume they are “singing.”

When I am not listening to talk radio, I like the classics. And by that I mean Beethoven, Bach, Tchaikovsky, etc. The violin is a beautiful instrument when people know how to play it.

Lol...me either. It ain't my cup of tea. I do not like Christian Rap either (I know many who do...and they can get the words).

When I am driving I listen to Contemporary Worship, sometimes Christian Rock (not metal). I also like the Grateful Dead.

I do not care for Classical music, but I do like the Impressionists (mostly Debussy and Ravel).

That said, there is a difference between Christian music like rock, country, bluegrass, rap, etc. and Contemporary Worship Music.

CWM does not sound like secular music. Those other Christian genres sound like the genre they represent. CWM is what is used in a church service.

My introduction to cwm was on secular radio. I was told that I was listening to Christian music. It all sounded the same to me. So in my experience, I disagree that it sounds different. It all sounds confusing to me. Especially the screaming people with self inflicted whiplash.

I agree that music is affected by this present evil world. To what extent is my question.
2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

The distinctive instrumental musics of peoples involved in demonic activities are musics that are categorically off-limits to God's people. We must not have anything to do with such unclean things.
