GoodBYE to Morally Straight?

On January 1, 2014, the Boy Scouts of American officially begin to allow homosexual kids in their ranks. I wonder how they will address the Scout Oath when it comes to being "Morally Straight?" I would think they will have to change that, or face being judged for hypocrisy! :wavey:

Along with the fall of the State of Utah and their marriage incentive law being over turned in court, the building blocks of decency and morality are starting to fall at an increased rate!

Soon, America will be homosexualized, and the gay culture will have won more than any of us in the church realized when they began their onslaught to take over the country, one day at a time! :tear:

And same gender marriage is just the beginning. Mark my words! They want more then the right to marry! :wavey:

A pure unadulterated stupidity kick somebody seems to be on tonight as that morally straight ain't talking exclusively about any particular moral act, but rather ALL of them. But I know that you know this already.

They'll address morally straight the same way they always have: as being inclusive of everything.

This is why the Church sounds like a bunch of nuts. Ranting and raging about homosexuality while heterosexual fornication and lust have become routine in EVERYTHING and we just go about our merry way.

I tend to view this topic a bit differently than most Christians I associate with...

Yes, I believe homosexuality is a sin.
But I believe this is a heart issue, and outlawing gay marriage isn't going to change people's hearts. The rule we as a society wind up living by is "we have the right to do what we want with our lives so long as we aren't infringing on the rights of others".
That's my unpopular opinion for the day. I'm in the minority here. Neither side tends to like my position.
I was going to go into a lot more detail--a couple long paragraph's worth--behind my reasoning, but knowing the backlash I'll more than likely receive I'm not sure I want to invite anymore heatedness than necessary. I'm up for an edifying and fruitful discussion, but I will not participate in an exchange of blows. And I don't care for how emotionally charged this subject tends to be for either side.


As for the BSA, since that is the topic of this thread anyway, I have a less settled opinion there. On one hand, perhaps the BSA has a right to decide who can and cannot join. They are not the government, after all. (On the other hand, would the same be said of an organization that bans certain races from joining? I think most Christians would be furious about that.)
As for the here and now, their decision to allow homosexual scouts, I'm not freaking out about it. I have (non-Christian) friends who are homosexual, and they are well aware of my faith and that I don't really "approve" of their lifestyle. We're still friends, and I think it'd be unfair and unChristlike to push them away over it. So I tend to think the decision on the BSA's part is...kinda on the fair side...:tonofbricks::tonofbricks:

And parents have a right to keep their kids out of the BSA and/or seek alternatives for any reasons they please. That's simple enough.


Yes, America--heck, the world--is turning away from God. And sadly I don't believe that will change, not any time soon--and possibly not at all.

50 years ago, the anti-smoking group only asked one thing- put a statement on ciggs packages that said ciggs MAY be dangerous to your health. - Thats all they wanted.

Sure, some more things along the way, were fine - I like eating in a reastruant without the guy next to me puffing on a cigar.

BUT NOW- here in the Empire State - a person is not permitted to smoke in his OWN car when on hospital property, and a host of other restictions.

In Calif, a teen may use either gender restroom - as they see fit.

Whats that old say - give an inch - take a mile.

There have been some thought on what hom0sexuals will DEMAND - but there will be no end to it.

Fair enough, I suppose. That is the same base argument the political theory I ascribe to is based on.

I thought those were pretty violent groups, though? Not that I've done much research, I was just under that impression.



Let's put it another way--say the BSA restricted membership based on race. While they would theoretically have the right to do that, I have to say it wouldn't sit well with me.

....of what they will try to change. For instance, in California, the text books must now provide history lessons on gays, and their contributions to history! There is an initiative to put the same-gender bathroom thing on the 204 ballot, but the way it is going here in California, if we vote against this new law, by the name of morality and protecting our kids; the courts will shoot down the vote, over turn the majority rules thingamabob, and we will still have boys using girl's bathrooms and vice versa!

Some parents are concerned that some kids will use this for their own perverted needs [like watching members of the other sex shower, etc.]. And, I can't blame parents for being concerned!

However, it shouldn't be a ballot initiative, but rather, we should recall all those elected officials who voted for the law, and show them what unemployment lines look like from the personal level of standing in one!​

Perhaps if the church HAD shown or even attempted to show the same sort of reticence with the heterosexual fornicator and lust movement that we've normalized into our daily existence, there would be a discussion to be had.

There really isn't too much to be said about homosexuals wanting things when they see the heterosexual fornicators being normalized into our daily everything.

I don't know what brand of church you go to, but if they aren't addressing all sin at the same level, they aren't much of a church. Three years ago, our church dealt with a deacon who was having an affair with his secretary. He refused -- just as do homosexuals, for the most part -- to repent. He was removed from his position, he was told he must attend counseling with either the pastor or a licensed LMFT with his wife, and refrain from ministry until he was fully restored. This is how the church deals with sin. This is how churches deal with open homosexuality. It is no different, and I suspect you know that.

Several years ago, I was a candidate for a pulpit. The church did not see a need to give a salary. (Part time would have been sufficent for me) So they found a local man and they voted him in. About a year later, the new pastor divorced his wife and married the church secretary. Our DOM reccomended the church to take appropriate action. Neither the pastor nor the church saw a problem. Since the SBC is composed of independent Baptist churches, we could not make them do anything. Our Association took the only action available to us. We dis-fellowship that church.
BTW, about a year after that, the church disbanded.

Right because we all know that churches are pulling their kids out of Scouts because of possible fornicating heterosexuals.

How does your church deal with the unrepentant greedy people?
How about the unrepentant immodest women and their dress?
How about the unrepentant folks who disrespect and dishonor the authority God has placed over them?
