How does one close a FB acct.?

I joined some 15-18 months ago, and within a week tried to "un-join", but never found that option.

You have to go into your Security Settings. Then, look hard and you'll finally see a tab to close your account.

Course, everything you've ever had up before stays in their data bank forever.

Thanks, Hamel!!
I just wonder though, as it said if "you want to come back, just type in your old data" or words to this effect. Makes one wonder if you are REALLY deactivated!!

Again, thanks!!

Yep, you got it. Just type in your old log-in information and it will pop right back the way it was. But that's okay. It won't come up while it's deactivated for anyone else and in a while all your information will be history.
