GOP Immigration Bill Includes National ID Language

    I believe anything that allows the federal government to continue to grow beyond its federal limitations and start putting demands on the states is bad for our nation. There was a day when the GOP was all about reducing the size of the federal government. Bush has accomplished helping the GOP do an about-face, and to increase the size and power of the federal government larger that it has ever been.

    Washington has used the threat of pulling federal funding from the states to force them to scrap their current driver's license system and replace it with this new National ID (driver's license, SS# Card, interstate passport, RFID tracking in one card)

    What will it help? What do you see as a benefit to having a national ID card?

    I have never given it much thought but I hear very conservative political folks rail against it from time to time. Just wondering what the reason(s) was.
