The gospel is the good news of life through death. Jesus died to Himself and lived for God and others. As a result, He has been highly exalted and given a name above every name. When we die to Satan, sin, and self in order to live a new life characterized by love toward both God and man, we find out what it means to be truly alive in Christ.

A more Scriptural understanding of Christ's atonement is the "Christus Victor" theory. One can read about this theory on Wikipedia and on other sites found through Google.
Rain falls on the just and unjust, but salvation, unlike rain, has conditions. Lu 13:3 “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
Dan: Hi HP , and you say that there is only one condition , REPENT ?
Then what happens NEXT ???
What does happen ??
HP: Scripture presents two basic conditions for entering into the hope of eternal life; repentance and faith. Continuance in obedience is the final condition to see our hope turned into eternal reality. We must stay faithful unto the end with the Lord' proferred help.
