Gov. Bobby Jindal's response

I was disappointed....as a republican and as a Louisianian.

It was like listening to Speech 101.

However, I have heard him speak in public more than once and he is so much better than than. So much more inspiring and commanding.

He's the best governor we've had since Huey Long and he's not the crook that Long was. Everything he said last night was genuine and he puts his feet to everything he says.

Please don't make a judgment about him based on his less-than-strong response last night.

The Republicans need to stick to the issues and stop trying to counter the Democrats with race, ethnic background and gender. I couldnt care less about political correctness, just do the right thing.

Ever since a black man (with a muslim background) and a woman got in the spotlight for the Dems, the republicans have tried to match that.

I am a staunch republican, and I too am disappointed in these choices.

Governor Jindal may be a good person, but he really needs to work on his delivery and public speaking skills. The video posted recently of the 14 year old girl on abortion was far superior. Why can't the GOP find someone that can deliver a speech? We have seen George "Nookyoolur" Bush, Sarah "You Betcha" Palin, and now Bobby "Singsongy" Jindal. I think the last great speaker the Repubs have had was Reagan, a professional actor. Hard to listen to even the best message if the delivery is horrible.

Makes you wonder...how bad were some early presidents at public speaking before the days of audio recording and radio?

Actually, that's precisely what I was talking about.

He a great public speaker.....just not last night.

I've seen and heard him speak at a National Charter School Convention and he was fabulous.

I just don't know why he was off last night.

The truth?

Bobby Jindal IS the right thing....for Louisiana, right now.....for the future of our country later?.....could be.

He isn't popular among some Republicans because he is of color. If you could meet him and know what he is doing for our state, you would know that.

Last night was the first time I had ever seen Jindal or heard him speak. I thought the speech was fine. The story about the fed workers inspecting rescue boats for insurance/registration was a great example of the federal government having wrong priorities. His cadence may have been a little off, but a little practice with the teleprompter can do wonders.

Well, we have an excellent speaker in the position of POTUS right now!! ( "speakin'" us right into bankruptcy.)

I'll take ole "nookeleer" Bush ten ways to Sunday over this character.

If our POTUS & his D cohorts "help" our economy much more, he's gonna help it right into the twilight zone.

I don't remember your concern when it was Barack "Hussein" Obama. :tongue3:

It is still Barack "Husein" Obama. And he is likely a racist since he took the grand opportunity to toss his white grandmother [who raised him] under the bus when it was convenient.

You see, I thought he didn't do a good job and not because he is or was incapable. I think the people that wrote his speech should be thrashed a bit.

I understand they didn't know what they were going to be defending, because they exactly didn't know what Obama was going to say, but from what I have seen this speech didn't match Jindal's normal presence.

The speech writers killed this on in my opinion....

Show me a link on that ... or is this just more lies and rumors by Obama haters.

Have a blessed day.

What? Do you have even a shred of evidence to back that up?

I believe that he is referring to Obama's defense of Jeremiah Wright when he said, "I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother."

Obama then went on to say that his grandmother "once confessed her fear of black men who passed her on the street."

Obama "threw her under the bus" by denegrating her in order to excuse Wright.
