Gov. Scott signs late-term abortion bill

TALLAHASSEE — Under a new law, abortions will be illegal in Florida at any point in a woman’s pregnancy if her doctor determines that the fetus could survive outside the womb.

Gov. Rick Scott signed a bill Friday that redefines that state’s current third trimester abortion ban.

Current law prohibits abortions after 24 weeks of pregnancy unless the mother’s life is at risk. The new law will require women to have a doctor determine whether a fetus is viable before having an abortion.

The law takes effect July 1. It keeps an exception if a mother’s life is at risk or to prevent irreversible physical impairment of a mother’s major bodily function.

How long will it be until the pro aborts get them an activist judge to over turn it? I'm sure their wheels are turning.

If that is so, why not allow infanticide to a certain age? Maybe when the child is fully independent and able to take care of themselves - sometime over 18 years old? Because if it's just a matter of will (I don't want the baby), why not allow the woman to go through the full pregnancy then kill the baby after it's born? It's probably safer than a late term abortion!

Ann, sadly some on the left agree with that. Isn't it Peter Singer that proposed the killing of babies after birth?

That's the way it seems to be heading. I can see them first starting with babies with what some folks will view as deformities, or developmental disabilities, and then evolving to ideology of parents.
