    Your statement concerning sanctification is correct, and your statement concerning grace is correct, but your statement about how "grace is accomplished" is confusing and ambiguous. If, as you have already stated, grace is "freely given without merit," then the only way to receive that gift is through faith and faith alone. If that is what you mean by being accomplished by the Father through the Son in the Holy Spirit then I suppose it could be true. But eternal life is the gift of God (Rom.6:23). We receive it by faith (Acts. 16:31). And Eph.2:8,9 plainly states that by grace are ye saved through faith.
    If by your statement you mean to say that baptism is included then you are clearly wrong. For then it would not be a gift, freely given without merit.

    Ephesians 2:8  For by grace are ye saved(not sending us to Hell, but letting Christ shed his blood for our sins) through faith;(us believing this to be true) and that not of yourselves:(we did/could not due nothing) it is the gift of God(exactly):
    9  Not of works,(again, nothing we could or can do) lest any man should boast.(nomatter how much you do or think you do)

    Homebound,

    I don't think a Catholic would say that they are doing anything. It is God doing the work, not them. To be more exact, it is the RCC allowing God to do His work. For you see, the only way one can achieve grace is through the sacraments which can only be given by priests. No priests, no sacraments, no chance at grace, therefore no chance of sanctification, therefore no chance at salvation.

    There is only one way one can be saved outside the mother Church, that is if one had no chance to accept the teachings of the church.

    God did the work on the cross at calvary, over 2000 years ago.

    1 Timothy 2:5  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

    Grace is a gift from God as Ephesians 2:8 states. No man can give grace. Salvation is
    f r e e.

    Romans 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
