Great Hymns, Spiritual Song of the Faith

I like a wide range (genre) of music.

I am partial to well sung Hymns and Southern Gospel

If you know of a wed site that offers free listening as the one here share it with everyone.

I have a lot of favorites, but I am partial to "Just As I Am" because it was my Dad's favorite and He played it in Church and at Home a lot on his violin. Many others also and to add to that it was during the singing of this hymn (third verse) that I surrendered my life to Christ (freely by the way) at Woodlawn Church of God, Anderson Church of God. September 20, 1970 morning service.

Tell us your testimony and how you came to Christ. That would be a refreshing thread for a change of pace as you share your listing of free on line Christian Music.

Here are two of mine:
The first is a listserver for early hymns:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SongToTheLamb/

The second is a music site, although one must have Melody Assistant to use it. MA is a free download though. These are tunes from 19th century oblong shapenote tunebooks. I will shortly have the words added to these hymns

This website has field recordings of various types of traditional Christian music:

I enjoy "O, The Blood of Jesus" and "O Sacred Head Now Wounded." I also enjoy many contemporary songs. I love a great variety of music, and lately, I have enjoyed "livening up" some of our traditionals. It's been neat to see some of our younger people begin to develop an appreciation for great hymns of the faith.

Among the contemporaries I like listening to most of Steve Green's music.
But acapella is more my cup of tea.
I like What Wondrous Love is This, We Shall Sleep But Not Forever, Hallelujah, What A Savior and a host of other old time hymns.
