Basically I was raised unchurched, never heard the word 'sin' until I was in college. After dropping out of college, I had my fill of 'sin' until Jesus got hold of me and turned my life right-side-up. In Christendom, I've been all over the map, but have landed (somewhat) somewhere close to Baptist/Reformed Baptist, but always keeping Jesus and His redemptive work...

Welcome to the family! Whether one was raised in a Christian family or not, the new birth is by definition, a turning point.
Learning to walk the Christian walk will take a lifetime.
The path set before us has been walked by our Savior.

Hope you enjoy the interaction here on the BaptistBoard.

Most old-time Baptists were "Particular" Baptists or "General" Baptists. Particular were Calvinistic, believing the Father elected, the Son atoned, and the Spirit regenerates the "elect" for eternal life. General hold a loose Arminian view. The first English Baptists were "Particular" as the 1644 and 1689 London Confessions maintain.

You landed in God's sovereign hands, brother, and that is a good place.
