I guess yer missing my point, which is, a shill would have backed Bush, despite his own convictions. That was not the case in the Meyers episode. Rush was extremely critical of Bush's choice.

But I don't wish to derail this president-hating thread, so......

Okay, I'll modify my statement: Rush is usually a shill for the Republican Party and the Bush administration.

Disagreeing with President Bush does not indicate hatred of Bush. It's just that some of us choose not to be Bush bootlickers.

Yeah, I'm aware of your new catch-phrase.

I supported the war on terror when I voted for him, last year.

And despite many, many requests for you to do so, you have yet to name one person who has had their rights violated.

Consider this to be a preventive attack on the domestic spying program. As a Bush backer I think you are familiar with the concept.

At the suggestion of LadyEagle I have modified it. It is now "independent-thinking-challenged supporters of President Bush". [IMG]

Yeah, that's a much better way to call the people you used to agree with "dummies". I feel much better

I don't think being on the other side of this issue means that person is dumb. Any more than disagreeing with President Bush on this issue makes me a leftist or a Bush hater or having abandoned Christian core values.

Some folks want to do the right thing, so long as it's not the left thing.

A Christian should do the right thing no matter what it is.

This, I think, is what Ken means by do so with his eyes wide open.

That's better. It sure did appear, to me, that you were saying Bush supporters were incapable of thinking for themselves.
