Guam may tip over?

Well we don't really know do we? What is more likely that a grown man that has actually been to this island before believes that it can capsize and tip over or that someone might say something outrageous in order to draw attention to a point he wants to make?

Actually, considering this is a Democrat from Cynthia McKinney's district...it's entirely likely he genuinely believes this.

This guy probably has two brains...one's lost, and the other's out looking for it.

Or, more accurately, this feller is depriving a village somewhere of its idiot.

Yes, I needed to mention he was a democrat. I hate the democrat[sic] agenda and enjoy pointing out the stupid things they do. I don't act as if I am a bipartisan bystander. Crabby does. I openly admit that I am against the democrat[sic] agenda and will point out every idiotic thing I see.

That's your problem. Instead of having rational political negotiations, the Republicans just want to stop everything, say no and respond with hate.

Guam will in fact be deluged with military personnel beginning next year
and Guam's population will absolutely bloat.
Navy, marines, and Air Force personnel from Okinawa and Japan will be transferring all their personnel and materiel to the island and it is expected that a frenzy of constructions will begin soon.
The sad thing about it is that the construction jobs will not benefit the local people, who are US Citizens and Residents, by the way, because for some reason the Federal Government has decided to award the constructions to foreigners, meaning Filipinos, Japanese, Taiwanese, etc., and the Guamanians' only way to benefit from this influx of potential incomes will be to set up boarding houses and such for the military personnel and their families.

That is sad!

Of course, here in mainland America, the American worker is going the way of the dinosaur, thanks to corporate and individual greed!

AND, may I add:
1 Unions
2 Over-regulation
3 Stifling taxes
4 Feds deciding who can be a company's CEO
5 Massive entitlement programs that encourage laziness
6 An obvious attempt of this administration to bankrupt the U.S. of A. ASAP
7 ETC ETC ETC AD-INFINITUM; depending on how detailed you choose to list the anti-business governing of government!!!!!

I still think the largest problem is corporate greed!

As dumb as it sounds.......

When you think about it and the way people latch on and repeat this.....

It's a brillant way to get early attention.
Excuses will be made and explanations as well as ridicule .......but, in the end, many people will forget this idiocy for the humor.... and well remember his face and name.
Say something which sounds too stupid to be said...... and then follow through with his own agenda and point making in areas he wants to focus on for those in his own party..... global warming and environmentalism....

I agree it sounds so stupid.... and he's on what important committees?
Also a big proponent of HC bill.... Scary!

OK, I'll bite:

Define "Corporate greed."

How much money should these top dogs be allowed to make? ON what do you base that number?

If they make more, how should the government confiscate the "overage?"

And why should the government be involved in limiting salaries? Or should they?

Do you think we all should make the same amount?

What happens when we dis-incentivize hard work and acheivment? When we demonize those with wealth....who's going to invest? Who's going to hire people?

Is greed out there in our culture? Certainly. But wealth envy is not at all good, and it creates a myriad of other difficulties.

Doesn't anyone get this......

This stunt in 'stupidity' is a ruse to get free publicity.....

And it worked and he's getting it.

It may also be a lightening rod for those who like to stereotype minorities.....
Read the inflammatory comments on the utube site..... Bingo...

The thing is.... all comments are made annoymously or by assumed names.
ANYONE can 'comment' and use the 'n' word..... even his strongest supporters...
remember its annoymous... and whoever uses these vulgarities... does so because they are annoymous and are cowards and promote hate.

OK, after watching it again...

I've decided what I think.

He's drunk. Seriously.

His words are slurred.

It's not Guam that's "tipping over."

After listening to him many times now, I don't think he actually believed that Guam could tip over. I think he was trying to make a point, and thought this would be the best way to do so.

Nobody takes seriously any risk of us increasing the likelihood of Guam tipping over = nobody takes seriously any risk of us increasing the likelihood of any harmful environmental impact on this island.

Agreed.

While I disagree with the Congressman's contention I am quite certain that he was not talking about a physical capsizing.

Sorry...I disagree. I believe that he was in some way impaired. His speech sounds slurred to me.

Now...whether this was legit medical, illicit drugs, legal drugs, or side effects of meds he takes...I'm unsure. But I do think he wasn't all there.
