In the two different lists provided on Page 2, the US didn't make the top 25, or the top 10.

CTB, care to comment?

Wow, from both links I am very surprised. I thought that the homicide rate would be much higher than the suicide rate. With all the killings we hear about in D.C., Detroit and Baltimore I just naturally assumed...

I don't know why the UK gun homicide rate for the U.K. isn't shown on the list.
I read recently that our annual number of gun murders is about the same as your daily rate. The U.S. population is about 5 times that of the U.K.

Before anyone asks, I cannot vouch for the accuracy of these figures. I read them in a newspaper. If they are correct, then Britain has a lower rate than any country on the list, which is possible since it is very hard to get a gun over here.

Bro. Martin,

Here's a link that may provide you with some information about the murder rate in the UK:

www.citizensreportsuk.org/reports/murders-fatal-violence-uk.html

The information this link presents is supposedly from the UK's Home Office. The reporting period is from the 2013-2014 time frame.

As you suggested, since getting a gun is a bit more difficult in the UK than it is in the US, this report states that "The most common method of killing continues to be by sharp instrument.

"Female victims were more likely to be killed by someone they knew.

"In most of these cases, female victims were killed by a current male or female co-partner, while male victims were most likely to be killed by a friend or acquaintance.

"Victims aged under 16 years were most likely to be killed by a parent or step-parent."
