Here's one I like:Originally posted by Siegfried:
I seem to remember Chris Temple (or maybe it was TomVols) popularizing a head banging icon a few years ago. I have no idea what happened to it, but it was definitely my all-time favorite.
Is this better? What we need is a "sarcasm" icon. Any suggestions?
just doesn't cut it.
And maybe a "frustrated/suicide" icon - like head banging and maybe a pistol-to-the-head.
Those who condemn others have not read their Bible. The only People Jesus ever condemned were the religious people--the self righteous--the Pharisees.Originally posted by pjlpel:
My issue will never be with a church that preaches from the KJV but those that condem those christians and churches of "like faith" for using other credible versions.
Use the UUB Code : [sarcasm].Originally posted by Dr. Bob:

Don't forget those of us who are 1611AV-preferred. Our KJV's have "all 80 Books of the Bible." [Those of you who know the source of that quote are probably smiling!!!]Originally posted by Bro.Bill:
As can be seen plainly on the versions part of this board there is a HUGE difference between KJ preferred and KJO.I have no problem with KJ preferred.
Yes, Askjo, anyone who has been on this board longer than 30 days knows your passionate KJVO stance. But don't forget: if your "King James Bible" ain't got the Apocrypha, then you ain't got a REAL "King James Bible." [sic]Originally posted by Askjo:
I am OKJV and KJV preferred.![]()
I was going to post something very similar, but I have been accused in the past of equating numbers with success. Most of the IFB Churches in Michigan that have larger congregations that are Baptist are not KJVO.
The small churches (under 100 attendees) are the most likely candidates to be KJVO.
I came from one (30 years)and have visited many all over the state while vacationing or just visiting. They preach from the pulpit that any church who isn't insisting on KJV is preaching a false gospel.
I don't have a problem with the KJV. That is what I use - even though my Pastoral staff frequently uses the NASB and sometimes references the NIV and NET Bible for clarification.
My issue will never be with a church that preaches from the KJV but those that condem those christians and churches of "like faith" for using other credible versions.
I do!!! Family Baptist Church in Lebanon, TN is doing just that. We are KJVO, but we have a heart and an understanding for those who are not. My husband is very adamant in his sermons that we cannot shove our standards down people's throats. It has to be by conviction that a person decides to be KJVO.Originally posted by gb93433:
Anyone know of any KJVO churches that are winning people to Jesus and discipling them. I just personally don't know of a single KJVO church that is actually growing. Do you?
We have a LOT of IFB/KJVO churches here in our area here in Middle Tennessee that all seem to be competing with each other on bus-routes, etc, stealing each others people....Franklin Road Baptist Church, Middle Tennessee Baptist Church, Heartland Baptist Church, Bellwood Baptist Church...I could name several more, but these are the best known churches. There are several more smaller churches that have split off of these to help propogate the IFB/KJVO stance. Many people are leaving the movement and going to the SBC because of the strife among the IFB churches, and I can't say I blame them. With so many extra-biblical doctrines in them, I was glad to get out of them myself.Originally posted by Trotter:
Almost all of the Independant Baptist churches in my neck of the woods (SE Tennessee) are KJVO. Thankfully, they are small and typically ingrown ("us four and no more").
I know it sounds harsh, but I do pray that they stay that way.
In Christ,
Trotter
