Anyone that knows me knows that I am no fan of the pharmaceutical companies and your article echoed many of my sentiments as to why. That said, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to find out they were thugs out murdering people to protect their interest by methods besides just pedaling their drugs. But, I had to suspect the claims of Daniel Best beating himself to death had to be inflated or certainly this would be drawing more attention.
Therefore, I searched for other sources and first came across a Snopes analysis at the top of the search page that quickly called the claim "FALSE". Knowing Snopes' bias I looked for any offer of truth through their logic to support their conclusion. But, all they offered is some forensic autopsy pathology professor's clarification that "multiple blunt force trauma" can come about from things such as jumping off a building or jumping in front of car and therefore could be a suicide method. Other than that they admit the coroner's office has not given any further details beyond blunt force trauma so Snopes' outright claim of the suspicion of murder being FALSE simply was not logically supported.
So, on one hand you got conspiracy theorists going as far as saying he supposedly beat himself to death "with a baseball bat" - which is a fabrication and on the other hand a claim of the suspicion being FALSE when we don't even know what the blunt force trauma was or any other circumstances to go by.
I would agree, considering the players that this does not smell good. Some things I noted:
(-) There is no outcry from the family about foul play. - I wonder the reason if there is suspicion.
(+) The coroner's report seemed exceptionally brief and it has been 30 days and still no further details released. Why the secrecy?
The location? Outside the garage exit door? Did he live in a highrise building? This would explain the multiple blunt force injuries if he landed there after jumping. Otherwise it seems a very strange place to end his life.
Anyway, I'm undecided but can certainly understand the suspicion and think there needs to be answers here.
