Life would be pretty dreary indeed without joy and laughter! I think Cutter knows this since he has Caspar the Friendly Ghost as his avatar.

Sorry if you were offended, Cutter. We were just enjoying a little lighthearted fun! No harm intended.

Awww, Cutter is just jealous cause he doesn't know how to have fun and is afraid to learn. ;)

If God didn't expect us to have a sense of humor then why did He give us one? Moreover, why'd He give the example? <sarcasm> Talking donkey's indeed! How dare He think to use humor to get His point across!?</sarcasm>

Yeah, and did you see that stuff about a floating axhead. Whoever heard of such a thang ?

I'm sorry that our laughter and silliness offends you, Cutter. I'd like to explain a little bit of my perspective.

My husband is a full-time, bi-vo pastor. Every single day I deal with the nitty-gritty "serious" side of life: deaths in the church, fellow Christians who need encouragement, pain, suffering, and satanic oppression our little town. I get all the theological, "somber" discussion I need every week when my dear husband runs all his sermons past me.

No one in our church is my own age. Our town is tiny and far away from all our family and friends. If it weren't for my internet friends and this wonderful bb, I would literally get depressed and ministry work would be ten times more difficult than it already is.

Just because I like to goof off and have a good time doesn't mean I'm a inmature, non-spiritual Christian. (Not saying you said that) But, as I said before, not all of us are here to have "deep" theological disscussions. Frankly, I get a lot of that in real life, and thank God, I can come to this board to relax!

By the way, I really enjoyed the thread about Christians and ghosts. It made me do some deep thinking, believe it or not!

Apologies accepted and forgive me if I cast a solemn shadow over the BB.

I guess being invited places to preach and being instructed ahead of time, "to be sure and tell a joke," or "get everybody in a good mood," has affected me.

I tell them that if something I say is funny and it comes naturally great, but to force humor I think is trying too hard.

Anyway, just so everybody knows I'm not a sourpuss, you can read my post, #24 in "Hip Hop Church, What About..."
That last part cracked me up so bad I almost fell out of my chair!

PS. I'm also thankful the posts have lifted the spirits of those that rely on this site as a source of companionship and learning.

Cutter feel free to come down off that lonely soapbox and knock some sense back into us at any time.....

Keep in mind we might hit you back.

(Now, please don't take my post too seriously, (or personally). I've finally found the perfect place to unload my smiley arsenal, and like I said I'm easily amused)

BB is a stress reliever to me too!
Sometimes I like to fight...
Sometimes I like to laugh...

Thanks to everyone for putting up with me!

Daggett Beaver is an angry beaver. But his middle name is "Doofus".
That's why my avatar is appropriate.

The duckbilled platypus is proof that God has a sense of humor.

And Fred Phelps is proof that evolution is false. Try to imagine him as being the end result of millions of years of evolution.

Maybe it's me, but I think we could do with a revival of this thread. There's certainly some more topics we could add to the list......
