Have you ever admitted you were wrong on BB

I have apologized on this board, not only because I was mistaken but also because I had expressed a truth with an arrogant attitude.

I also confess that I have the following attitude: I may be wrong but I'm rarely in doubt.

Funny how you never did say you have admitted when you were wrong, or ever having apologized. It must be nice to know you are fully sanctified.

We all know who you are talking about. It doesn't take a rocket science... just godly wisdom and discernment.

Actually, I have admitted in the past on the BB that I was wrong. But that was in 2007 and was deleted by admins clearing some posts. Many of my posts were lost much to the delight of those advocating alcohol in the life of a believer.

None on my part...I didn't jump into this thread basically stating "you are talking about me".

Unlike you, I will not be fully sanctified until I meet Christ.

I find many verses in the New Testament that state the Believer is sanctified already by the blood of Christ.

My Bible tells me I am sanctified, justified, glorified and He is satisfied.

Hebrews 13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

What is the pros and cons of admitting you are wrong?

Would you respect your pastor if he admitted he was wrong on certain decisions, or beliefs?

Pros:
1. God commands humility. We are being disobedient when we refuse to admit we're wrong because it is rooted in pride.
2. We are made right with God when we rid ourselves of pride.
3. If we refuse to admit we're wrong, we end up looking like fools and lose integrity.

Cons:
Can't think of any.

Yes. I would not respect him if he thought he was absolutely right on everything.

I have apologized many times on the BB. I mess up frequently.

I suppose it could become a matter of pride in itself. A person could say: "Look at me! I always admit when I am wrong, but Brother or Sister So-and-so never does!"

Yes, and like the Charles Dickens character, Uriah Heep, who says in the book "David Copperfield":

I am well aware that I am the 'umblest person going.

But in the context of this thread, let me say that the danger of not admitting our faults at all is far more likely than admitting them in a boastful way.
