If confession is to be made to other people, it seems to me that it is better to be made to those we have offended and to those we know- not in a public internet forum where people are identified by screen names and avatars.

And if you were a Roman Catholic it would be easy peasy....just walk into a box, cross yourself, say.....'Bless me father for I have sinned.....tell the guy your sin...say a few Our Fathers & Hail Marys & your done. Heck you can do that every week! :BangHead:
Ahhhhh, Religion! Complete BS!!

13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:13-15

2 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— 12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Ephesians 2:1-13

Ah......

None of these questions Dude honestly are any of your business...and to set yourself up as the evaluator of peoples conscience is just wrong. Yes Ive had one night stands with women, Ive even gotten drunk (intentionally) & yes I have lived with a woman...even got her pregnant...before I married her. Lets see what other evil activities would you like to know about.....oh, have I taken drugs? --- why yes I have. Have I ever had other gods before Him?...why yes I have. Have I made money & career & possessions into a graven image? Why yes I have. Have I taken the lords name in vain? Too many times to count! Did I keep the sabbath holy? Ah no. Have I committed adultery, ever steal, ever lie, ever covet, ever bear false witness....oh & the biggie....ever kill? Well guilty as charged & I deserve hell. But thank God, I have an advocate!!!:jesus:

....me thinks in the moment of anger and rant you failed to see a huge glitch in your personality: Temper???

As I said before, there is no little cyber guy, with a cyber gun, jumping out of your PC screen; holding a gun to your heading and making you respond to these polls.

So, please don't go blowing your temper at me, because you think, I am doing something that is none of my business.

Tell me how my polls and questions differ from those that ask and question others about their theology of Calvinism, freewill, the tribulation, etc.

In my eyes, what a person believes - theologically speaking - is no one's business, and those who float questions on threads to poke into another members personal beliefs in the area and realm of theology is as off base as you think I am with these questions. And then you those who float these theology questions go on and pick a fight - under the quise of debate - to put down the person who sees things differently.

The neat things about my polls are; I do not turn the tables and JUDGE. In fact, it is you and others that are judging others for their answers. Now that is crossing a line I never intended to have crossed. And now I have to apologize to anyone who was candid enough to share, only to be slammed! For shame!!!

I do apologise for making you lose your temper. That was not my intention.

And to answer ARBO, who said, "If confession is to be made to other people, it seems to me that it is better to be made to those we have offended and to those we know- not in a public Internet forum where people are identified by screen names and avatars." Let me say two things.

The reason I used a poll was to allow people to answer and respond without EVER showing their avatar.

And secondly, in 1 John 1:8-10, we are told, "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

While it is always a good thing to go to an offended party and apologise, the Scripture is clear: It is the Father to whom we must go an apologize. This poll is not an apology thing, but a question as to morality and how we dealt with immorality when we crossed the line.

I believe, like we read in the verses from 1 John above, that we all have sinned, and sometimes it is important that we open up enough to show the world that we are not perfect, just forgiven. Too many people in the world around us believe that Christians walk around with this high and mighty faux facade. Polls like these tend to show others - in the world - that believers came from the same place they are stuck in, and through God, we've been able to escape the sin, be forgiven, and enjoy His fellowship and grace.

Now tell me what is wrong with this forum and those members with enough guts and courage to bare their deepest secrets in orer to show the lost that we are no different than them, we have just come to Jesus and been forgiven and they too can have that? I see this as a plus. Not a liability or an overly intrusive question.

Please know this; I don't mind criticism when it is due...but "pickiness" is just so beneath the few of you who have chosen to walk that path. :tear:
