Robycop3, friend in Christ, I believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for my salvation, and I trust Him, I trust the Word of God. God has the power to save, and none other but God can save, and does seal us in. Who is stronger and more powerful than God, to get away from His grasp?

There is no "kind" way to say this, for I know how awful it is to loose a friend. The man was not saved, unless he was saved by faith into the Jewish "Kingdom Church", which all were previously justified in this manner. Yes Hebrews 11 tells us what you say could be true today, for by faith justification is the gospel of "conditional" justification. From what you say I see no way this man was justified through faith, into either Church.

Through faith justification is all Grace into the Kingdom Church, or the Body Church. Christ Jesus is "full of Grace" . John 1:14-17, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
    15. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
    16. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
    17. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."

I with all my heart believe the Holy Spirit will show, when we take a very, very close look at how God has, does, and will justify. All up to the Cross had to be justified by faith for at least two reasons. Those before the Cross could not be justified through faith for Jesus had not yet spilled His blood. Also no one knew by "whose name they must believe on to be saved". Also even after He had "shed His blood", I don't believe we can find scripture that man had any knowledge they could now be justified through faith. We are told such things were "hidden in God", and not until after Damascus Road can we find this gospel began to be preached, that gospel being Paul's gospel Christ Jesus revealed to Paul as He taught Paul in an Arabian Desert. An no one had ever heard of the "Body of Christ Church" until we become aware of the preaching of Paul advising of such things, including by grace are we saved through faith; it is a gift, from God without one work expected or accepted as we are circumcised, baptized without hands into His Body Church, and sealed by God the Holy Spirit. A strand of three (3) if very hard to break, and there is never anything, or anyone that can take from God what is His.

Appropriate moderator, trust if one thread is "shut-down" it will be the other as this one is just getting started, and the other has about run its course.

I just had two interesting threads (started by others) closed down with questions to me that never got answered. Hope the moderator/s don't make it three in a row for me.

Roby, time for those on the other thread to come over, and step-up to our level.

This gives a hint that someone can deceive God into salvation then later change his mind. Can one turn back after having surrendered their life as a living sacrifice and having their mind renewed by transformation? We have been bought with a price so we are no longer of ourselves. We belong to God who is our owner. God lives in us. Even if we were to attempt to leave God, he would not leave us.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

The topic on the same subject in the Theology Forum is on page 20.
It will be shut down soon. This seems like a good place to have
a discussion. We are discussing what people think about
Hebrews 6:4-6. The fact is obvious: it is a Reducto Absurdeum
arugment that says: you can't get lost after you get saved.
Can we go have a nice topic on WHAT WORKS YOU SHOULD DO
NOW THAT YOU ARE SAVED and can't be lost?

No, we can't have a topic like that. Nobody will come.
Ever hear this dear old song sung lately?

    We'll Work Till Jesus Comes:
    (the version in my head)

O day of rest for thee I sigh,
    When shall the moment come
When I shall lay my armor by,
And dwell in peace at home.

    We'll Work till Jesus Comes
    We'll Work till Jesus Comes
    We'll Work till Jesus Comes
Then we'll all be gathered home.

Awww, c'mon..Do ya actually think a PERSON can deceive GOD?

Can one turn back after having surrendered their life as a living sacrifice and having their mind renewed by transformation?

According to those Scriptures, he/she can.

We have been bought with a price so we are no longer of ourselves. We belong to God who is our owner. God lives in us. Even if we were to attempt to leave God, he would not leave us.

But according to those Scriptures, one CAN leave God.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

I agree nothing nor no one can take us from God...but according to those Scriptures, one can leave Him.

After all, it was GOD who caused those verses to be in His word.

Robycop3: // I agree nothing nor no one can take us

    Not according to Hebrews 6:4-6.
The argument is a logical argument of the
    type called 'reductio ad absurdum'.
It proves once one has been saved, they stay saved.
This verse is the proof-text for OSAS (once saved,
    always saved).

Robycop3: // After all, it was GOD who caused those
verses to be in His word.//

Amen, Brother Robycop3 -- Preach it!

But you err if you blame God for your willful misunderstanding
of the logical element He used to try to convey this truth
to you: 'reductio ad absurdum'. It is absurd that one could
fall aways from God's Salvation freely given to you through
    Messiah Jesus'es sacrifice & Resurrection.
