Hi, my name is Jim, and I live in South Carolina. I grew up in Maine, and was always in Baptist churches. I am an independent Baptist. I accepted Jesus as my savior when I was 5, and it was a real conversion. Now I'm married and have 5 kids and one on the way. My wife's parents are missionaries in France. I'm glad to find this board!

As to the Board...this is an interesting and diverse community of believers here who are from all walks of life and wide-ranging opinions. "Thick Skin" is sometimes required but I hope your presense here with us will be long and fruitful. IF (as I see in your profile) you have reared or are rearing 6 children then you may already know the value of patience! That would be a good thing here as well.:laugh: God Bless You!!

I am not too far from you. I will be in eastern Pickens county tomorrow, Lord willing, but will be on the run. We can meet up some time. I will PM you when I get a chance.

It may be the same Faith Baptist, as it used to be in Greenville, but is now in Taylors. John Vaughn used to be the pastor, he is retired now and taking care of his ailing wife and daughter. He does have an evangelistic ministry which he performs as he is able to.

I have not published much of a religious nature. If you look up my website, there is a blog section. I have been meaning to blog more, but haven't gotten to it, being extremely busy lately. You can find my website on my profile.

Where do you live in Kentucky? My parents live in western Kentucky near Kentucky Lake. We hope to be up there to see them two weeks from now.

Thank you! I see you live in Nashville. In the same trip we go to see my parents, we will be attending the home school conference in Nashville on the 16-18th. We home-school our kids, who are second-generation home-schoolers. :tongue3:

You, sir, are probably within 45 minutes of my parents. They live south of you on the west shore of Kentucky Lake, about 3 miles west of the shore. They have been wishing they could find a better church.
