Help with easy affordable web page design

I would love advice/ help/ tuorials for affordable, accessible web page design.
(I should add - for someone who is really IT challenged & cannot speak computer tech jargon.)
My son (a painter & a carpenter, just graduated from 2 years Christian ministry studies) wants to make a web page. His goal is to be a missionary overseas.
The challenge is - How to build an affordable, accessible, no stress web page. (Andrew is less computer savvy than I am & is currently super busy building to fund his missionary dreams.) Are there like minded souls who can help out here, with basic How To's for Christian web page designs.
(I bought a copy of the book 'Building a Web page For Dummies' and I spent a week searching the net for tutorials and now I am more confused & frustrated.
All your advice on how to achieve a simple 2 page, effective, affordable, accessible web site would be appreciated and valued.

I used www.geocities.com when I created my son's church web site. It worked great!

A great BIG welcome to the BB from the great state of Illinois!
